Are you seriously saying Bruce was heroic for knocking off Sunderland in the cup? Because we didn't manage it during either of those league seasons?

For someone who has 'nothing more to say' you don't half go on... But seeing as you ask, no im not. I never once used the word heroic or hero, so I really don't know where you got that from.

So since I said I only had nothing more to say to you if you seriously thought that, maybe that's why I clearly didn't mean it as a conversation ender?

Ahh, so when you said you have nothing more to say you meant you have more to say. How could I possibly have misunderstood?

    What are you on about?

I mentioned teams that we beat as being nothing special, and you made a point of mentioning Sunderland as if I'd deliberately left off this 'something special' side. So my response was 'If you seriously think they were a giant we killed then I have nothing more to say'. Not really sure how that's a fault on my part for a lack of clarity since you're now suggesting you weren't meaning that Sunderland are a giant.

I did say Sunderland are a much bigger club than us, always have been always will be.The fundamental point is, we reached an FA Cup final, which for us is an outstanding achievement. En route we knocked out a team who are both bigger than us and finished higher up the league than us. When listing the 'easy teams' who we beat you conveniently left them out. I was merely pointing this out.

You're really quite odd you know.

You mean that side we did the double over in the league that season, and beat 3-1 the following season? Boy what an accomplishment. You're right. Bruce in.

Yep, beating a team much bigger than us so often is an accomplishment. I'm glad we agree.

You are nuts if you think present day Sunderland is that much a better side than us.

Here we go then... name one, just one, way in which Sunderland are not a bigger club than us? Cos by my reckoning any single parameter you choose would say it's them.

    You're confusing bigger with better..

They have more history, yes. They have won more trophies, yes. They have a bigger stadium, yes.

But present day Sunderland is no better than us. They stayed up by the skin of their teeth.

Are Aston Villa are better team than us? If we were in the PL this year with this team, would we have less points than that Villa team?

    Don't confuse bigger with better.

Yep I misread, I thought you said bigger. Apologies, it's early. As for better, well we're talking about last season and they finished higher in the league than we did.

And it's guesswork but I do think Villa are probably better than us.

Here on January 1st 2016, can anyone give us valid reasons to expect promotion in a few months time? If City go up, are there valid reasons to think they won't come straight back down again? Are there valid reasons to think a better man that Bruce can be recruited to Hull City while the Allams remain the owners?

There is no evidence that Hull City's inconsistency will not continue, and as inconsistent teams don't get promotion I anticipate City in the Championship again next season. The evidence is that City are no better than Aston Villa or Sunderland right now, so we know what to expect with them even if they were in the Premier League. It can be argued that promotion would make transfers possible, but the evidence is that Bruce isn't up to spending 40 million quid and building an established Premier League team, so I expect City would be kicked straight back down again with a sore arse. And at the bottom of all these problems is instability at the Club, short term planning, and superficiality. The Allams replaced Bartlett saying they wanted Premier League football within three years. Well they got it straight away, and what did they do with it? Here we are back down again debating Bruce's future. I'd just like to know what able manager would join Hull City expecting that he'll have a new, unknown and probably foreign boss in August?

Things need to happen in the right sequence. First Allams out, then Bruce out. City need to rebuild from the bottom up, not all this sticking plaster malarkey.

I am not holding my breath.
