.........but this could be great news if it frees up his salary for a decent replacement. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...s/cardiff-city-striker-kenwyne-jones-10670036
He's never been the most effervescent of players and his attitude of late has made things worse. He is probably not just the highest paid, but the highest paid by some margin, which can cause unrest in a squad. I can only see benefits in his departure as we'll have to move away from long ball tactics, hopefully getting a bit more movement up front. we could probably take on 2 or 3 players for his wages, though I would also like to see some of the fringe players moved on to maintain a smaller squad. The attitude of KWJ and Watt are like chalk and cheese. Would like to see a few more with Watts attitude.
What's the betting that Revell will start up front on Saturday as Slade sticks to his 4-4-2 principles. If Jones put in half the effort that Revell does during a game he'd be a world beater - as it is he's a waste of time. I just hope Slade doesn't try to vindicate his purchase of Revell by playing him there into the New Year. He is a very good team guy but doesn't have the skills to cut it at this level and make the difference.
Perhaps Ravell running about a lot will create more space for Watt. A 441 with distractions formation. it'll never happen but would still love to see how we fared with a 451 or 4141 formation with the squad we have. Mason as a wandering attacking midfielder or Dikgacoi as a defensive mid letting Ralls and Gunner push on (or even putting Whitts in as part of the central 3).
We need to sign another striker. I'm really glad the lazy over paid ****er is leaving. Any goodwill left in me from the goals he scored was completely extinguished on Tuesday. I haven't been so close to booing a City player off the pitch. His attitude is a disgrace and he insults the club and its fans with his **** you attitude. I blame Slade for picking him Tuesday as he would have obviously shown the same **** attitude in training. I don't know whether we'll sign anyone good enough but KWJ wasn't anyway so there's not really much to lose. We've discussed his 'talent' before and the fact the player John Terry discribes as his toughest ever opponent is being released by a midtable championship over a few grand is ridiculous. He should look back and be very ashamed of the career he's pissed away because he's such a lazy ****.
I'd like to try Watt on his own up there with 5 in midfield in a sort of 4-4-3 setup. Watt is a willing runner and with Pilks and Noone in support would trouble most defences. I'm not sure about the defensive midfielder options at the moment, but unless we get another "Medel" type of player, Gunnar or Dikgacoi would fill the spot. That would mean a true creative midfield for me of Ralls and Whitts. Ralls could play inside rather than forcing him out wide as in the past when Whitts was playing - that never worked for him.
I know we question Slade's football nous, but I'm sure even he wouldn't attempt that formation Sparkey.
the question is, if he tried a 443 formation would he go without a keeper or try and sneak another player on hoping the ref wouldn't notice.
lets hope we don't get through 2the wrong AA hey.........this is not the time for a sharp suit, rolex watch, false teeth with slanted eyebrows <wink> happy new year>>>>>>>>fellow bluebirds and football luverz
Looks like he's gone - no not Slade unfortunately. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/01/04/por-jones-set-for-al-jazira-move/
So who's going to replace him? Right call to get him off the wage bill but Slade's 4-4-2 is reliant on a target man. Against Blackburn we won none of the balls lumped towards their center backs and I can hardly imagine building from the back is Slade's mantra. Better teams than Blackburn (who were pooooooooorrrr) will have a field day.
just curious but what sort of wage is he on? going to Al Jazira I read, they will obviously pay silly money
