Fathi looked handy, it has to be said. And didn't do a lot wrong other than lose posession cheaply at the halfway line against Wolves, which ended up costing us a goal. That aside he was easily the best player on the pitch that game.
He wasn't really playing even when Meyler was out. It's no so much 'hype' about Haydn, just like it's not hype about Luer. The point is if others aren't doing much why isn't there competition.
I think Hayden is suffering from something I call Ghilas disease. This is where a player becomes far better than he is because he isn't playing and the incumbent in that position isn't playing well. I don't think Hayden is any world beater, but if I was him sat on the bench I would be hugely disappointed at not getting a chance. Meyler is clearly shattered and hasn't looked the same since his injury and Huddlestone clearly doesn't suit our system, yet instead of try Hayden Bruce continues to try fitting Huddlestone in. So I get why Hayden would be frustrated, but we have seen very little to say he was definitely the answer.
Would have been nice to see Hayden given the chance, though. He played well in the cup game against Leicester, and IMO deserved a start against the likes of Bristol City and Manchester City. Had he been given the chance and taken it, maybe he'd be here for the rest of the season, and we might have a point or 3 more on the board. Frustrating.
Because the question has hardly been asked. He may have been useful or may not have, we'll never really know. Meanwhile Bruce's experiments of starting players like Meyler and Diame who aren't fully fit hasn't worked.
Like I said I think he should of got a chance and there are numerous games which he could have been played. However, we can't definitely say he would of being the answer to all our questions.
Just popped in to DQPR not606 to see if Austin is fit, it appears not. Came across the following post from one of their well known posters: "Can't see Austin playing plus he will be marshalled by Hull Top team and I expect them to win this league as it goes on I would try again not to concede and hope for another tight match that we may just nick in the last 10 minutes … about time we did that Confidence is everything IMO loo what we did to Brighton? Hull win this match then they could win the next 5" Uninformed optimism? The next 5 league games after tomorrow being: Cardiff (H), Charlton (H), Fulham (A), Brighton (H) and Burnley (A)!! Personally I'd take 3 wins and 2 draws or even 3 wins, a draw and a loss. I expect 2 wins a draw and 2 losses.......
Got me thinking about facelifts did that. Have you seen the ex-looker Uma Thurman these days? Just why? please log in to view this image
Hayden had done enough to be given a start when others were clearly struggling and it's a piss-poor manager who wouldn't give him it. It's an even worse one who, when rambling through his last post-debacle interview, actually named the lad as a possible starter against QPR - but then again, he might have mentioned the kit-man as well. Do we take it that he was expecting him to stay? If so then that's a concern in itself.
