Not a lot today, feel like ****.

I've so far put on 8lbs. Pretty good going that I reckon. Hopefully this little 24 hour bug will see to some of that.

It's ok but I was expecting better. Don't mention to CFC's Most Humiliated Fan that you're going to see it. He's not able to WUM on the football front anymore so he's moved on to film spoilers to give his life some sense of purpose!

Took the two Junior Stans to the panto yesterday. Captain Hook did an impromptu tribute to Lemmy. It confused much of the cast and the audience! I ate mini scotch eggs.

RIP Lemmy. Have a Jack and Coke with Jimi for me and don't forget the joker.

I went to see the Charlie Brown and Snoopy film yesterday.

Star Wars will seem positively Gladiator by comparison!

    Doing absolutely **** all tonight.

That's probably not a bad thing. I'm trying to do **** all tonight if I can. The rough plan is a boozer where I took you to watch a match once has a street food smoke house thing going on with lots of low and slow meats plus hip hop dj.. I fully intend to be home before midnight as an playing in the Texas scramble in the morning.

Got no chance of winning as Dan has managed to put a team together with the himself included the other two best players at the club off 3&5 respectively plus Slav on 10.

I saw that last week. I slept through much of it. Not that it was awful, I was just knackered. The boy liked it, the girl didn't.

Every new year I try and do **** all. Every new year I get ambushed at the last minute.

Last year we went to some gathering on the 29th. A couple we know whose kids are at school with our kids asked us what we were doing for new year. I said **** all and so they invited us round theirs as the people who were supposed to be coming to them had cancelled.

    a) how can you say to someone that you'd rather do **** all than spend time with them?
    b) what is the best way to say to someone that their last minute, you'll be an adequate replacement, invite is actually pretty insulting?

I ordered the taxi for 12.15am.

This year I got ambushed by family in a similar situation. This year I have used the kids as an excuse (it's always a disaster when they stay up for new year, allegedly) and have ordered the taxi for 9pm.

Tomorrow we have been invited out for lunch. I wanted a healthy January so it will be the worst possible start to it. Why not just order healthy food and a diet coke? Because I've never done that in a pub in 40 years, I'm not starting now.

Well it looks like her parents are coming round now. This has happened before, they'll be snoring on our sofa long before midnight. Boring ****ers.

It had better be limited to that though, I need this to not escalate to a bit of a do as I'm more concerned with being hangover free to enjoy tomorrow than anything else.

Got to then drive up to Manchester first thing Saturday so need to be box fresh.

I'm working till 20:30 tonight. Then I'm on-call for 3 supported houses for 16-25 year olds. In total 16 kids (all the young people we have at present are under 19 years old, as we get more money per week the younger they are).

    Can't ****ing wait.

    Then...

    I'm working from 08:00 - 18:30pm tomorrow.

Haven't thought about what I'm eating, probably some ****e that's quick and easy.

Well at least you can't be roped into some ****ty expensive thing you can't be arsed with. I'm trying to be as vague as possible with everyone so as to give myself a get out clause for the numerous texts asking me what my plans are. My intent is to avoid anyone who plans on sticking **** up their noses.

Yeah that's the positive. I won't be smashing in a couple of hundred quid on absolute nonsense and I'm on a good earner doing these hours <ok>

I did have Christmas day and Boxing day off, so it's only fair I work New Year. We can't exactly shut up shop at their most vulnerable time of year!!

I have spent the last 3 New Years taking the family out for some mayhem packed city centre fireworks show in the freezing cold. OK tbf the drinks and food were in good supply, the build up was pretty decent, even if the aftermath dies a death suddenly. However, I've told the kids tonight we are staying in. We will spend the night together. I will put on some old movies they've never seen before (I'm thinking Hitchcock but not sure, or a run of Laurel & Hardy), some late night food, see the fireworks from the house, and then watch as each of the kids falls asleep in a dimly lit living room to the movies going on. Mrs and I will then have a little drink. Maybe even end it with a New Year's shag who knows.

I'm actually feeling great at the thought of a stress free night spent at home with the family. And like a few others, I'm looking forward to going out for a meal tomorrow though not decided where yet.

My daughter is having a birthday party so I will be eating party food that has been discarded and probably snotted on by a number of 7 year old princesses.

I had a soft boiled egg on toast for breakfast.
