    I remember as a kid New Years Eve telly was an ordeal with the hogmanay thing, only three channels and Andy Stewart was on all of them.
    Why is it only the scotch that celebrate New Years Eve?

    I will drink some wine and beer and I'm tempted to watch some episodes of Shane having watched all of Blue Heaven which was pretty good but wasn't the comedy starring Frank Skinner that I was thinking of*. There's also the xmas special of Detectorists, which I somehow missed, to watch on iPlayer.

    *Unless my vague recollection was of the pilot episode which I am as yet unable to find on t'internet.
