Thought Moreno was lucky to stay on the pitch, to be honest, could've easily been booked earlier and really lunged into the one he got a booking for.

You gave it a good go but there was a real lack of quality out there. Think you need a big lad to throw upfront, Defoe isn't going to win many headers when you go long.

    That Wattmore's good, though.

We will be ok with 2 full backs and a centre half
They will finish us on tonights showing. If we win Ellis may spend. Its a huge game.

Hold up my hands. Mannone had a good game. Stays in for Saturday. They were no better than we were over 90 minutes. Just a pity that we never get the luck when we deserve it. Onto villa. Play like that we'll do ok.

Can't really fault the effort, just a distinct lack of quality throughout the team.

Honourable mentions to M'Vila & Borini.

I'm still puzzling over our persistence in putting high balls to little forwards.

Liverpool were the better team and deserved the win. They were the only team that looked like scoring tonight.

Brown was easily our best defender, his class and experience showed. He kept everything simple and that's what we need at the moment.

M'Vila, **** me, I nearly ran to the toilets at half time to knock a cheeky **** out over him. A quality player who sticks out like a sore thumb in our side. Best player on the pitch tonight.

Cattermole, he had a good game, I can't see any better midfield pairings in the bottom half of the premier league. Him and M'Vila were quality. Shame Rodwell and then AJ were ****ing **** as the other midfielder. If we had a quality AM, our midfield would actually be formidable and we may start to create chances.

Lens, that prick doesn't want to be at the club and he made it crystal clear tonight. He simply walked about the pitch and basically refused any challenges. Absolute ****ing arsehole.

Billy Jones, PVA, Coates and Rodwell are simply not good enough.

Watmore, again he showed his naivety a lot of the times. Good player with cracking potential but needs to learn when to run with the ball and when to release it. That's his Achilles heel at the moment.

Defoe and Borini, plenty of effort from these two but at the same time you just knew we weren't going to score tonight. We need more creativity for them and this is where a new AM would come into it.

Mannone, meh. A couple of good saves but I'd still drop him for Pickford.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From the 75th minute tonight, I noticed people leaving their seats. What an absolute joke we are when it comes to that. Absolutely embarrassing, what's the point in going to the match to 'support' your club and then leave as early as A LOT of our supporters do. When the full time whistle blew, I think we had probably 15% of our fans sat in their seat. We are the worst fans in the premier league for that.

That really narks me, as you can probably tell.

I'll agree with you 100% on every word, except for when Brown ****ed up in front goal 22seconds of the second half. Other than that he had a good game.

The difference was Catts. Everyone seems to gain confidence just for the fact he's on the pitch.

He was my man of the Match tonight. First game back, not match fit, but he covered everything.

I was sat in the North stand so didn't notice if somebody was out of position, or what. It looked like a ball played through for Benteke and he ran through and finished it. What did Brown do wrong, mate?

Catts was outstanding mate, I have to give MOTM to M'Vila though. I watched him closely tonight and everything about him oozes class, his last ditch tackling, his passing, his vision, he's got it all. I definitely think he deserves a top 6 club at least when he leaves us in the summer. Most talented midfielder in a Sunderland shirt, that I have ever seen. Hutchison made a bigger impact for us and was better. He didn't have the talent of M'Vila though.

I thought Catts was great tonight, his first game back, and M'Vila was outstanding.

I might be being unfair about Wes about the goal. It looked to me like if he'd read it properly, he'd have blocked the through ball. But that's 100% hindsight. So I'm probably being unfair on the guy. He put some great blocks in, in the first half, and had me raving about him, in spite of how slow the old old guy is.

Too many conflicting emotions after that game mate.

Fair assessment, it just hurts when you admit to yourself that we simply don't look good enough to stay in the league :(

Mind, I didn't think much of the Liverpool fans for keeping blasting out 'Were coming down the road', It's a blatant loyalist song which should be kept out of football...

That was over my head mate. Doesn't mean **** to me. Didn't hear it over the crowd in the local.

There's no room for that in football anymore.

They need to grow up and move on. No one cares about raising that old crap anymore.

They changed a couple of words so that it was about Liverpool.

I wouldn't want to make a big deal out of it, just think it's in bad taste, that's all.

This. Other than the goal he was very average. I thought Coutinho was the best Liverpool player by a country mile.
