could be i'm so old the seasons merge and being old i expect other people to do my research for me i still remember being horrified by the negative aspect of Heskey playing wide left in midfield to make us more "solid" ruined our league season and left Heskey with an excuse for not taking on the chances but always trying to shovel the responsibility to someone else
Markovic looked very raw to me, seems to have pace and ability but his decision making was poor, loose technique, not great ball control. Might get away with that in portugal but not the intense PL. He needs work in the fundamentals tbh, but he has shown glimpses, up to the club to develop him more, if even to get some of that large fee back, would rather he played well tbh, train like you fight..

Gerrard 2006 to 09 Leave the goals out... it's the fast pass forward and always looking for the positive pass that we miss Anyone else notice the amount of times players got it in any sort of advanced area and just passed it straight back without ever trying to take it in. Too much tappy ****e round centre circle with no real intent to it.... and that was constant story for all but 6 months of rodgers reign.
I reckon we need a mid season review thread now Rate players and state what we need to do next. I think personally the back 4 were OK, Sunderland were awful but the midfield 5 as a whole were never really controlled or showing quality either in possession or without it. Benteke did OK. Prob a 6/10 today
