We are poor..... really poor technically from the three behind benteke.... who's done ****e all really too.

    Coutinho is very deep.

Henderson will be off at half time.

Firmino is largely anonymous except he's got a couple efforts and lallana has been worse he's no impact at all on this.... at all.

Looking for a lot lot more on the ball from them

I wonder what it's like having a regular goal scorer on the team. I've forgotten.

My god, the transfer windows cannot come soon enough!

I pray that Origi and Sturridge are back soon.

Yeah...thought point of all three was supposed to be quick neat interchange to unlock defence...all they have done is shoot wildly, lose control with first touch or run into trouble.....

Benteke doesn't show for the ball to feet. So many times players have the ball and he's just standing by waiting for something to happen.

Just then, ball got played into him but he's always on the back foot and for someone of his strength and size, he really shouldn't allow defenders to get to the ball first. Needs to learn to get his body in the way and sheidl the ball better when it's on the ground.

He stifles the attack and those around him.

That's not to excuse the 3 behind him because they've been poor as well.

But every time he starts, we don't look threatening.

You surprised, both are too lightweight for this sort of game. Put them up against a team thats determined to defend and they're stumped. Firmino has alittle more, namely his ability to strike a ball, unlike feather Lallana who'd have trouble kicking a balloon with any real power.

I don't really want him to with 3 no 100. .... they need to do more.

A 1/2 round the box OK fine but why want him to do anything bar occupy the cbs and let the others find resulting space?

Sunderland are playing 10 men behind the ball and not allowing us to play through the middle with MVilla & Cattermole oth sitting 5 yards ahead of their CB's.

They're doing what every team has done to us in th past couple of seasons, let us pass the ball in front of them and allow us to push it wide knowing we aren't a threat from the wide positions. I thought having Benteke would solve that issue as he offers us a proper threat from wide but it seems we're reluctant to put crosses in and instead get wide and try work it back again.

How about we work the ball into the box and get in behind the defence? Sunderland are terrible! Defending against crosses is their only attentive.

Come on MITO, surely you have to come to realisation that Benteke is stifling the creative players, and not the other way around.

    Bull ****.

    Sorry guys but come on.

Lallana and firmino have done nothing. Coutinho is playing on the half way line but it's all down to benteke???

Bull... there too many games lately where this excuse has been not possible and we've been just as poor if not worse.

    I find this laughable frankly.

  16. @Jimmy Squarefoot...

Every ****ing game it's the same comments. It's not like we have better options atm. Get of Benteke's back ffs <doh>

Because he should be the type of player the number 10's play block passes off.

Perfect example is look at Giroud, he's the same type of player but with far greater technical ability... Arsenal play into him and then play off him in and around the box. Ozil knocks the ball into him and goes for the return and Giroud plays the pass. At the moment, our number 10's occasionally play the ball into him for that pass back or flick on, but he's too slow to react and often the defender nips in before him.

Not a dig at him, everyones playing poor but he needs to offer more.

    Yup!

If its going to be benteke for a while we need wide players..I'd even Bring Smith on in front of moreno..got a cross on him.

    Total bull.

When origi was in were they good.. nope.

Lallana ain't cutting it and neither is firmino. ... it's convenient to just blame one guy when the whole team is to blame.

That includes benteke. I could not give a **** about him but the constant niggling and bashing is deluded and misses the rest of them.

Look at every time he has started and we've played poorly bar Arsenal first half.

The team averages 1 goal per game when he starts. Over his PL career, Villa averaged less than 2 goals when he starts. He may get goals but he stifles the team.
