Not consistent enough over the long haul and not one that can step up imo. Defo not as good as bluetit fans think he is. Purple season for him 09-10 (24) but dropped dramatically last season (10) and was only 4 in season 08-09 when he played 38 times. Really not sure about him. OK as backup but 1/2 mil at most. £3m? Not a chance.

Besides, we have an embarrassment of riches in midfield and a team that has goals in it. I'm more worried about putting together a quality defence in depth truth be told.

Nice to see CityArse1 is still taking an interest in all things Swans, though. Your neck must be aching like hell, boy. LOL. ;)

Whittingham wasnt good enough for villa that is why he was sold to Cardiff, dont think he could get into our team anyway. squad maybe but only as backup. need to be looking at better players than whittingham i feel, as mentioned earlier Hitzelsperger defo or even Hakuta on loan from chelsea or NGOG??

could be a possibillity less pressure on him @ the swans and not going to have many games at liverpool this year is he. just a suggestion with the Pavone deal looking to fail

If we "had to" have a Cardiff player from last season, think I'd rather take Craig Bellamy before Peter Whittingham .....

Unfortunately there's no way we can afford the wages of the likes of Ngog, Hitzelsperger etc. Reality is now biting hard but I hope the club won't be panicked into paying silly money for players who are only interested in a short term pay cheque. That policy might make us a yo yo club but we will be stronger for it in the long term. And who is to say that we won't stay up with a couple of "sensible" signings?

with hitzelsperger isnt he out of contract and NGOG maybe on a loan with a choice to turn it permanent next year possible, no transfer fee then i know the wages would be higher but there would be more monies available for wages/bonus package, i thought these could be "sensible" signings.

Not even if Bellamy would be the difference between staying up or being relegated?

Upson would be a good shout if you can afford to carry him I think, he used to be prone to injuries but I can't say how much I know about his fitness over the last 2 or 3 seasons...and he'd command big, big wages surely? Hitzelsperger would be a good shout I think, but again I don't know how much money he'd want...
