Bamford just haven't played enough this season and really isn't tested in the PL yet, that's the only concern I have with him. £8 million for Naismith is a little too much but if he helps us stay up then that would pay for itself and he knows this league well, which I think we need. I really hope we pull of these signings we're linked with, trying not to get my hopes up though. Also if Grabban does go, I would prefer it if it was in a different league, I know he's been pretty terrible for us, doesn't mean he will equally be as bad for another team. If he returned back to Bournemouth he could fit right back in and potentially help them.
More than ever before it is essential that we are not relegated. If ever there was a time to take a punt it is now, just for once I really hope we show some ambition I'm pissed off being 'little Norwich '
I couldn't give a flying wossaname where he goes and how well he does. I just want him out of my club and somebody in who shows desire and some pride in wearing the shirt, Wes earned a reprieve for wanting to leave for Villa when he did - for most people, anyhow Grabban has done absolutely nothing to try and get people back onside, so if we could get circa £4m for the tool, rip their hand off!
Yeah but if he goes to a rival relegation team and help them pick up points, that would be shooting ourselves in the foot. Sure he might be as useless as he is with us, or he could click with the right team or manager. Would be happier using him as part deal for Afobe, or something like that.
Completely agree. This season it really is vital as the knock-on effect of missing out on the cash could set us back years compared to our regular rivals. If that's how you feel though, you really should vent those feelings more often. It's no use bottling it up you know!
Me too, but would he be prepared to step down a division? Though, to be fair, Hooper has and Lafferty looks like doing similar pretty soon.
Personally I'd like to think Grabban would be the perfect exchange for Afobe. Wolves would get someone proven at scoring in the Championship and a healthy amount of cash say £7m? (just a guess). Wolves pay decent wages I beleive or do for their better player so Grabban wouldnt need to take a huge cut and could get signed in on a long-ish deal to give himself security. I guess as usual its down to Grabban himself though and if he knows there is Interest from B'mouth then why would he want to play for Wolves?
He's still under contract so maybe the choice of playing regular football or playing in the reserves?
Just read that we've supposedly bid for York's highly rated youngster, Ben Godfrey. Many clubs are reported to be interested, we appear to be the first to make a bid. One for the future if he does join, probably in the same way Thompson and McGrandles are...
Rumour floating around Twitter, so could well be bull, that were interested in bringing Fer back. Not really sure how I'd feel about that. I quite liked him when he first arrived but as the season went on he didn't really get into games well enough and started to fall away. I don't have think the the centre mid role is one we need to urgently strengthen.
Given QPR would no doubt want most of what they paid us back, that his wages are probably higher now than when he left, and his performances have been average at best this season, I'd be disappointed if there's anything in this.
Que? If Alex Neil's preferred game plan is a counter-attacking style, what the hell use would Snodgrass be in that? He has as much pace as a combine harvester!
I cannot agree, Bath. He was our best player that season IMO. EDIT: ... and arguably our best player the season before that too!
Yes, I would, but Howson can play in a variety of positions with varying degrees of success. Snodgrass occupied a right wing role and for prolonged periods offered our only outlet ball. Plus, he almost every time checked inside to cross or shoot thanks to our obsession with playing inverted wingers in every match so was so easy for the opposing LM and LB to negate as he was a bit of a one-trick pony. Still the best of a shockingly poor bunch in that fateful season, though
