I think we were all quite surprised by the team selection for the Huddersfield match and conversely unsurprised by the effect. In an attempt to create some positive energy for this Friday’s televised home match against Hull, what team would you chose?

I would go for the following team:

    ------------------------- Green---------------------------
    ---Henry------Onuoha-----Hall------Konchesky---
    --------------Faurlin-------------Doughty--------------
    ----Phillips -----------Luongo--------------Hoillet----
    --------------------- ----Polter------------------------------

My logic is as follows. I have reluctantly kept Green as Smithies seems to lack confidence and I would not want to unnecessarily destabilise the back line. So with Green in goal we have “the devil we know” and we will have some good saves as well as poor distribution and the inevitable fumble. I would definitely return to our best centre back pairing of Onuoha and Hall. For right back I go for Henry with no change at left back. For defensive midfield, I hope Faurlin is rested and would pair him with a fitter player, thus choose Doughty over Sandro. For the offensive midfield I would play our wingers (Hoillet and Phillips) in their correct positions with Luongo in the number 10 position. I would definitely chose to play a striker, and in the absence of Austin, I plumb for Polter. I think that such a team would be stable in defence, have “the legs” for a pressing game and hope fully the ability to put the ball in the net....in addition, it could possibly play entertaining football.

I do not expect that JFH will follow my thoughts and “at best” expect to see Sandro (in place of Doughty) and Cherry (hopefully not Fer) in place of Luongo. Anyway, I hope that we do not all groan when we see the team sheet in Friday. Whatever the choice, lets hope that we finally get our first win under JFH.

Hoping Charlie may make a 'surprise' early comeback appearance

I would be happy to see Doughty and Luongo back but don't want to see Green or Henry again so bring in Smithies and Angella

True - it would be great but I have no idea as to his injury status. I think that at best he may be a substitute.

Apparently injury news is kept in-house as much as possible now so maybe there is a chance Charlie may appear.

Never going to happen but I'd like to see Polts and Charlie up front together.

    Smithies
    Phillips Sandra Chery Green
    Petrasso SWP
    Henry Onuaha Angella
    Hill

This may seem at first a strange line-up, but it's an improvement on the Huddersfield fiasco.

You forgot to put our utility man, Karl Henry, in goal. He has recently played almost everywhere else!

Can't see Austin playing plus he will be marshalled by Hull
Top team and I expect them to win this league as it goes on
I would try again not to concede and hope for another tight match that we may just nick in the last 10 minutes … about time we did that
Confidence is everything IMO loo what we did to Brighton?
Hull win this match then they could win the next 5

We aren't ready to win two in a row yet

    Smithies
    Henry Hall Ned Konch
    Sandro Faurlin
    Phillips Chery Hoilett
    Polter

If Sandro is not fit, or can only last 60 minutes or so, I'd like to see Luongo get a game alongside Ale.

    I would go with

    ------------------------- Green---------------------------
    ---------Henry----- Ned ----Hall------Konchesky---
    -----Sandro---------Faurlin---------- Doughty --------------
    ----Phillips -------------------------Hoillet----
    --------------------- ----Polter---------------------------

I think JFH will go for :

    ------------------------- Green---------------------------
    ---------Onuoha- Angella ----Hall------Konchesky---
    --------------Faurlin-------------Sandro--------------
    ----Cheri -----------Toszer--------------Hoillet----
    --------------------- ----Polter------------------------------

By the way, although I would like to put Smithies in, now is not the time to throw in a young keeper. Green is a good stopper, but poor tactician who is prone to errors...but he is definately a good stopper....lets get the defence settled before they need to shepherd a young keeper

Luongo is an option alongside Ale. But I'd rather see him in the no.10 role.

But anywhere is better than in the reserves or the bench!

Indeed, I'm surprised the club put this out on Twitter after Saturday's fiasco ...

I like you think Henry's position, if played, is right back. Colin used him there once and I thought he played well, why Polter instead of JET, he did score when used. Although he seems an in and out form player.

Nines, I think that you may be warm. Switch "Fer" for "Cherry" and I believe you will have JFH's selection.

I hope that you joy the match!
