Agree that he is still a little raw but we saw yesterday that this raw potential is starting to materialise into a good player. He had his best game yesterday imo and if he can keep developing the rest of the season like he so far, then next season could be a breakthrough season for him.

There's been plenty on here slating Monk off for using the same team - yet when you see Curtis fully use the squad you still moan!!

Well it's backfired on the moaners because Curtis got it right and we go to Old Trafford with a fairly fresh squad.

A few seasons ago Laudrup make wholesale changes over Christmas and we got a creditable draw with Spurs, so it's not something that hasn't been done before.

Like I say , the slagging was more in frustration than anything .
The biggest chin scratcher for me was dropping Ki , really coming into his own and can play all day .

It is about using and changing the team but not all in one go. Yes we got a point, but we looked a totally different team with the introduction of 2 players. That game would have been there for the taking if we had started the right side, instead you seem more than happy with a point and dropping a place down the league.

I tend to agree. We were poor as an attacking force v Palace. Really poor. A good point and Curt has brought about an improvement in our results (and deserves credit for it) but this season Swansea City has become associated with games commentators call "tepid", "lacklustre". "uninspiring" and so on. Happy? Am I ****. If I want to "moan" I will. Curt is doing well but we need a new man in asap.

The big plus is the whole squad is getting time in , and a big plus it is .

The difference between us and Watford is that they've got strikers who stay on side and know where the goal is!

I actually thought this was a smart move as Utds midfield is very slow and old (Carrick and Bastien) so I'd expect Ki will be fresh to run them ragged with his high work rate as he's now playing and running around like he did last season.

"..................hoping we can dig in and grind out a very boring draw and will be more than happy to be last on MotD if we do." YOUR words, not mine.

Regarding changing most of the team, International superstar Michael Laudrup and club legend Alan Curtis have both done it effectively over a Christmas period.

Using your logic you would have used virtually the same team as against WBA and virtually the same team against Man U, playing tired players and increasing the risk of injury to players in the process.

Instead we picked up our highest ranking away point of the season, have a fresh team going to Old Trafford, a lot of squad members have got priceless Premiership minutes under their belt - with some possibly playing themselves into a start on Saturday. SHAME ON YOU CURTIS <laugh>

Yes I made that before I saw the team, when I saw the team I thought it was wrong and we should have gone a little stronger, we changed 8 so playing ki and siggy would have mad 6 changes, is that virtually the same team as we played against WBA,and with their introduction we actually looked like a PL side and werenthanging on and actually had a bit of possession and looked the better side. Why are you bringing up Laudrup, I have never mentioned him and what he did 2 years ago has no bearing on what was done Saturday, I am sure many managers before have done this but only a link to Laudrup.

Why would be putting a laughing face because I disagree with you am I not entitled to it or is it an effort to make yourself look clever, I may believe you are a bit of an arrogant person, but I would keep that to myself and wouldn't dream of telling you it. But as you have said on here earlier we all or I need to eat humble pie for not going out and trying to win a game, consider it done.

Arrogant? Guilty as charged, just like most posters on this forum. But if you want to slate off the manager before a ball has even been kicked then expect it to come back and bite you on the arse - and deservedly so.

I still believe he got it wrong, so I don't think it has bit me as you so nicely put it. With a couple of changes that game could have been won and we would have been on 21 points. But obviously I am not allowed to think that, so scrap it Curtis was spot on and got it totally right he will continue to get it spot on and probably will go on to be the best manager in the world so how dare I have an opinion and disagree with what he did.

I doesn't bother me when a bad poster and a good one duke it out on the form , it's almost enjoyable.
But it does bother me when two good ones do .
Lefty had a rant after the line up was announced , with reasonable reason I might add , and after he calmed down a bit apolized minutes later ...no big deal ....understood exactly where he was coming from .
I'm certainly not going to hold it against him for showing his emotions after they have been bottled up over managerial decisions over months .
Most were shocked by 8 changes and frankly we were lucky the benchers played well enough to help get a point with the bonus that those benchers got some time in with a result of sorts
So back in the boat and let's get rowing toward the end of the season .

Nothing wrong with disagreeing - but to use the phrase "Shame on you Curtis" seems totally uncalled for.

I'd point out that my comments were aimed at several posters - not yourself specifically, but you obviously felt that what you said was out of order because otherwise you wouldn't have felt the need to respond.

Having travelled up to Palace and thoroughly enjoyed the game, I read this thread and was surprised that the whole jist of it was negative until we earned a hard fought point and suddenly everyone seemed jovial.

It's disappointing that Curtis, who has steadied the ship for now, wasn't shown more respect. That's my opinion.

I too am overjoyed with the way Curtis has handled the pressure thrust upon him by the bumbling board and the reaction the team has had toward his imput ....a very soothing person when we needed someone , much like Britton ...bless them both
