Evening Chippy / WJ. Completely agree with Chippy on this one. The contract between Sky and the FL is I'd imagine the same as the premier. Sky will pay a sum of money which will be shared out with all the member clubs, with additional payments to clubs when their games are televised and that sky get to select the matches. Forget comparisons with Spanish clubs, they sell their TV rights independently, which is why so few teams get near Barca or Real. We bargain collectively. Cellino can't just decide this unilaterally, it is decided by the club chairmen and would need something like two third majority to change collective bargaining. To me this is the usual Cellino melt down when things are going okay and he is out of the limelight. Also not sure how the sponsors would have felt about their products being pulled from tv exposure but probably wouldn't encourage future sponsors to want to deal with the club.
No point trying to explain the principles of a collective agreement to a sweattie. They only want to be part of the collective when it works totally to heir advantage. I am sure Kappa must be thrilled. but a bit like when Cellino said we would only take 2000 away tickets the thick ****er never sees who his dickhead ideas are going to affect most.
Teams must look at us and think... we've got a chance against sunday league defenders... how we have managed for so long in this division with total useless defending... we dont even make it difficult for them
