Why would a guy who has played 10 or so games for Inter this season and was captain last season want to join a PL relegation battle. Not that I'd turn him down.
Just seen Andre grey is on a hat-trick today. Looks a decent player, one I thought we should of gone in for in the summer.
Inter have Juan Jesus, in-form Colombian Murillo and also Joao Miranda from Atletico so Rannochia is far from assured of a place in their team. It's just something I read on Sky. Also says Bologna are interested (perhaps of a similar calibre to us) who allegedly pipped us to Destro in the Summer. RE André Gray, didn't they pay circa 10 million pounds for him??
Yeah it was certainly in that ballpark. Seems to be the going rate for high scoring championship strikers these days!
I see Bamford is going to return to Chelsea, to be available to get loaned to another club in Jan. With Jarvis signing a permanent, does that free up a domestic loan spot?
Bamford cancelled the loan because he's only started 9 games for Palace. Would he start more than that for us competing against Wes?
Not sure if it has been mentioned on here yet but the newest rumour I have seen is that Ivo Pinto could be on his way for around £2.2m. http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic..._dinamo_zagreb_right_back_ivo_pinto_1_4361468
Just some food for thought on transfers that I had on the 2 hr drive home for the game last night....... Everyone says we need goalscorers or better strikers but after some thought I am not sure I agree with this. I think we would struggle to attract much better than we already have without taking significant risk but say we had £15-20m to spend (I have no idea what we have to spend but my thoughts will be the same) would we not be better off trying to find an upgrade or a younger version of Hoolahan? Hoolahan makes things happens and creates opportunities. I'd like to see us invest the money in upgrading the supply to our current strikers and I think this may be easier to achieve given our budget and the fact that strikers are generally priced higher. Just a thought! I'd not like to guess how well (or not) we would get on if Hoolahan was injured/suspended but hes certainly a different type of player than our other midfielders, who, in my opinion are all at a similar level.
Yes, I was surprised when I saw that, given that we have 3 RB's, but Whittaker is 31 now and Wisdom is on-loan and Martin is also competing at CB, so there could be some truth in this. I suppose Whittaker could either move-on or go out on loan. Strangely, I've just looked at his Wiki page and it has Pinto as a City player!
My choice would be Naismith, Mark, as he would offer different options to Wes and provide more of a goal threat as well.
According to this, Pinto can also play as a CB, though RB is his main position. http://readnorwich.com/2015/12/29/right-back-set-norwich-medical/?
I think we need a new right back and CB. Get rid of Whitaker. On the new Wes I think Vadis deserves a shot at claiming that mantle. In games line yesterday Wes just didn't get involved. We do need another striker. I thought Mbokani was great yesterday, his hold up play was superb. I think we're well served for big strikers is like a smaller nippy natural finisher too. Our midfield generally has looked good I've been impressed with O'Neil his control distribution of the ball keeps things calm. We lost that yesterday.
Looking at his stats, I think he only has one career appearance at CB, so I suspect that he's being thought of primarily as a right back. Can anyone remember if Wisdom's deal was a loan to buy? Either way, I suspect it's Whittaker's place in the squad that would be most under threat. I know nothing about the player, but he plays regularly in the champions league, is a good age and the rumoured price is sensible.
