Correct and the same should then happen in the championship with the teams people want to watch getting more money on a pay per view scale, millwall should be good for £2.50p
Not a bad theory at all 60, makes sense as an option to consider. Do you think Derby is the ideal game to blood Coyle with his first start, he'll be a bag of nerves, scared of making a mistake, in awe of everything happening around him and, Derby will try to exploit him to hell and back. On the other hand, he could come out and do a Taylor, which is also a lot to ask, and expect. I know players have to start somewhere and sometime, just not sure Derby would be the ideal game to blood Coyle as a starter......just a thought......
Only the tinpot teams would moan about losing money because of the tv schedule - the bigger Championship teams fans go to the games whether they are on tv or not
It's not an option.... We are a member of the football league and have to comply with their contracts... Don't like it, then deal with it properly and renegotiate when the deal is up......let's not forget attendances are falling year on year even when not on tele....
Also, the more tv coverage you get, the more attractive you are for sponsorship - I bet Kappa are well pleased with this news!!
I'm grateful when we're on Sky, and I want to see the game. Can't help feeling that Glory is right () when he says that Cellino is basically saying if you can't get to the ground you can get to **** I wish the lunatic would realise that some actions are likely to have only one outcome, and it's not good for our league position, bank balance or relations with the FL. If he relents later today though, and he gets away with it to a greater or lesser degree - he clearly doesn't give a toot about FL relations - and he gets a LOT of attention in 24 hours and maintains his maverick status with the wider media and football in general. Watch this space.
Think he will let them in,If its true they refused to let Leeds see the contract then he's got their attention now,and that's probably what its all about.Cellino is doing what's best for the club long term and its better people were at the games instead of watching on TV.I will be watching if its on TV,and sky get £600 pounds a year off me to do that,if no Leeds games were on sky they wouldn't get it and I would have been there tonight.
http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/Der...y-TV-debacle/story-28435057-detail/story.html Derby fans seeing the arguments much like ourselves.
Your attendances have been higher for the televised games than the non televised games (according to Sporting Intelligence) and you'd need them to drop by over 3,500 for the additional TV money not to cover the drop in gate money. There is no financial case to be made here, it's all about petulance.
Not sure about the £100k per game, seen the sum of £50k mentioned by the club previously.Recon we drop about 5,000 on the crowd for live games.x by £25-£30 means we lose £125-£130k so if its £100k we don't lose out so much but if its £50k we lose a lot.
That's because its the bigger games on TV,Sheff wed,Derby, first game of season Burnley.Sheff Wed would have been close to 30,000 if not on tv,it was 22,500.Derby tonight would be close to 30,000 if not on tv,will be at least 5,000 down.
We were just on the main Sky News, they confirmed according to rules and regulations a points deduction can be issued. We have 2 hours to decide... Again, the FL are obviously not very fond of Cellino so I fully expect the largest possible punishment, I do also feel the TV coverage will go ahead.
Derby are on TV the same amount as Leeds and their average gate is 30k - reason your crowds are down is nothing to do with tv games!
Derby are top of the league, and don't have a large traveling support that we do,we are a one off in this league, only club that have thousands who travel to home games from all over the UK and Eire. These are the one's who will give it a miss as we have to make choices which games anyway due to costs. Will choose to go another game, when we are not on TV might be away and so club lose out.
Not really - the fans that watch the tv game because of costs will go to another game instead so evens itself out as you just illustrated Only money club will lose out on is from pissed off sponsors
Yes but if its away the club get no money.I am not going tonight purely because its on tv,will go another game but as I already go pretty much every home sat game it will probably be away.
