The Club is dying before our eyes in my opinion. But only if we stand by and let them kill it. Simple question - will you attend a protest this Saturday in the West Stand car park at 2.30?
Don't hold out much hope for a big attendance protesting but will be there ...think we have proved that apathy reigns by and large
Apathy only wins if we let it. Short term objective of the protests - get Carol sacked. Only a proper manager can keep us up now.
I'd like the protests to be combined with a very vocal show of support for Peter Varney, even though I won't be there. This would pi55 off Murray, and also show 'Mare that a CEO can be popular, and so would be an indirect dig at her giggly claim that the fans always make the CEO the most unpopular person at the club. I'm convinced she revels in it.
But we mustn't conflate ongoing protests with the Varney issue. Varney has his flaws - this was the guy who appointed Les Reed as a Premier League manager and then told me to my face he was with us for the long term and would be backed in the transfer market - 4 days before he sacked him. How depressing that the Varney sideshow is being ramped up by Rick Everitt, Ben Hayes, Richard Hunt & Pemberton of course on CL. Not one of them has ever got behind the anti RD organisation of protests. I wonder why?
I have put it up on ITTV and CL. Please see below an idea from Rick Everitt. Airman Brown Member 10:35AM edited 10:36AM in General Charlton I propose we go and occupy the area outside the boardroom window for one hour at 5pm on Saturday, following the Nottingham Forest game, regardless of the result. Simple demand - get out of our club. Views?
I will attend both a 2.30 and 5pm protest. The only risk with having one at 5 is that we win (PMSL) and fans drift away. We need to do both, IMO. We can't have enough protests. It has got to be constant and relentless now until Fry is sacked and Mere resigns through pressure. Can Super let Sue Parkes know via Facebook, as the noise from the protests might affect her enjoyment of those lovely free vol au vents.
I've been fishing for her, Nick - no response. Maybe the cocktail sausages have been asset stripped and that was the straw the broke the camels back. As for the protest - I'll decide nearer, in hope this one builds traction. I'm going to send my season ticket back personally, I think as have no urge to spend any more money to watch a side devoid of talent, in a league where they are horribly uncompetitive, managed by a glorified PE teacher, run by a individual in which this is her longest period of employment, and finally owned by a dickhead. I think that's how I'll word the letter accompanying the season ticket.
Oh and Nick is right about Varney - and glad someone else made that point. He was the one pushing for a move to Kent whilst in the premiership, whilst publicly declaring there was no intention to move. He is clever. He is political. Murray knows this - hence why I'm not overly surprised if it is him advising KM and RD to not hold court with him. I'm just surprised his word carries that much weight.
That would be extremely hypocritical of Murray, considering that he had taken steps to begin the sale of TheValley after Varney had left.
