Absolutely and with most of the big teams still to visit CR, there is a chance of racking up a similar haul of points in the second half of the season.

Brilliant result. Great first goal for Howson and Mbokani's goal made the scoreline reflect the performance and to top that a clean sheet for Declan! Joint 14th now with Bournemouth and they have to play away at Arsenal tonight. Everything looks much better tonight!

I am so happy tonight. Was so worried about this game, had my eye on it for the last few weeks, but that is fantastic! 2 goals, and a clean sheet! Perfect. The relief I feel is exhilarating.

Getting some more cracking comments on Villa forums tonight - sheesh they are bitter feckers.

    • These Norwich players are **** dirty (Priceless)
    • We started well, we were by far the better team for the first 30 mins. (What game were they watching?)
    • What a boring excuse of a football game. Both sides. Bag of shat. (No, we were better)
    • Norwich foul after foul after foul. They know exactly what they're doing. (One-eyed fans)
    • Well we are watching one of the teams coming down with us. (Maybe not eh)
    • We are utter ****. The worst thing is Norwich are too, and we're still losing.
    • Norwich are truly awful, yet have beaten us with little fuss. This is the worst Villa team of all time, surely?!? (Nah, Villa were garbage the last time they were relegated)

Were we really that bad today? I know it was not the best from City but they were not sh1t as they are making out, were we?

We weren't great, but we were never really asked to step it up. Hoolahan was pretty dreadful until his assist, Dorrans was typically wasteful. Howson was probably our best midfielder, with an excellent finish, but then subsequently missed an easier chance.

Overall, I'd say Mbokani, Brady and Rudd were the standout players.

Hoolahan was pretty dreadful until his assist - yup, I thought he was going to be replaced on about 60 minutes, so ineffective was he.
Dorrans? Other than a shot in the first half, I clean forgot he was playing until he was subbed <laugh>

Mbokani, Brady and Rudd were the standout players.- we are on the same page today Rob :emoticon-0148-yes:

Just back from the game. What a relief when the 2nd went in. Beautiful assist from Wes and Mbokani deserved a goal after some tough work throughout. Really impressed with Brady and Rudd too. Thought Bassong looked a bit shaky today and seemed to lack confidence.

Saw Howson making some awesome runs into forward spaces which went unnoticed by his teammates. He is class!

My first game in ages and sadly my last in a while but loved it...

I don't know if we're doing an end of year forum awards, but that's got to be a late entry for post of the year.

Agree with Rob and Thai that Mbokani, Brady and Rudd were all standout players, but I'd include Howson as well. Also, AN thought the defence was solid and I'd agree with that.

Agreed Rick - thought the defence was more solid with Brady at left back instead of Olsson - to me, today's back four should be our starting 4 (until we buy a new CB in January <whistle>)

Wes has now provided more assists for us than any other player in the Premier League (17)

Agreed Rob. On several occasions, Mbokani was actually wrestled to the ground by a Villa defender which went unseen by the officials. He really worries defenders and I'd certainly be inclined to have him start against Citeh.
I'm struggling to understand what Dorrans offers the team!! <ok>

Bournemouth lost 2-0 at Arsenal, so we now have 14th place to ourselves at mid-season.

Just back from the game and have to say that we were pretty poor but Villa were undoubtedly worse. As has been said Hoolahan was dreadful until the assist, Dave I thought was awesome though and thoroughly deserved his goal.

Was anyone else in The Queen Of Iceni lunchtime? Even more packed than normal, took me bloody 15 mins to get a drink. Needless to say I bought in bulk when I did get to the bar ! <cheers>
