That's a really poor response, as you offer nothing but anecdotal misunderstanding and 're-quoted errors to support your own mistake. It's not personal, why do you want it to be, what the **** has Chazz aand Happy got to do with it?
I think it's blindingly obvious, but I'll let B-C-C explain himself. To prepare you, try and think about possession and non-possession tactics in the same game.
Happy and Chaz have as much to do with it as your reference to mis understanding, there is no misunderstanding on my part. As you and BCC appear to be the only people who understand his intended methods, perhaps share your findings with the rest of the footballing community? I'm sure they would all be very interested in your findings. How you are right, yet so many people who actually coach football and football professionals were all wrong. You can't actually make this up.
Of all the people you'd expect to get into a never-ending, repetitious circular argument, I'd never have guessed it would be GLP, Bummers and Fez.
I know, I have felt more argumentative since my Mum died last year. It's a good place to vent your spleen. It doesn't help that I am often provided with decent ammunition.
What's stranger is people saying I'm confused always seem to point out what Klopp's teams do without the ball yet ignore what they do with the ball. Weird.
Again with what Klopp's teams do without the ball... Explain again how the philosophies differ with the ball? And again, exactly when did I, or indeed Hughes, mention 'long balls'?
Weird indeed. What they do when in possession of the ball is pass quickly between team mates and move with ball at feet into attacking areas. They are already pressing for the ball in the opponents half. It's no coincidence that Klopps teams cover more distance during a game than most other teams. This is in no way similar to the philosophy of Hughes. Weird indeed.
What's massively weird is ignoring Klopp's philosophy of there being no more than 6 phases between defence and POMO.
Have you ever been able to hold a conversation without being so ****ing belligerent? This was the first link you gave us all, one which was supposed to support your argument and prove it beyond doubt: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/profile-the-professor-breaks-cover-charles-hughes-1507161.html There are two key pieces in it that bear consideration: My argument is that the use of these terms has, over time, become confused and their meanings not really true to what they were initially meant to be. Both were meant to be , and still are as far as I am concerned, intended to describe a kick of the ball into key space (POMO), a space where a race between attacker and defender took place, or where a teammate collected the ball after moving to it. This was a tactic first discussed (in depth) by Charles Reep, in the 1950s ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Reep ) who you should consider the real culprit, although Hughes did his own dastardly deeds for the future of football in this country. I would suggest that Wikipedia attributing it's use to Hughes is simply erroneous nonsense that has been promoted by quite a few lazy journos and not a few coaches, who then pass it onto others - it's how the advance became 2s 6d to go to the dance, message passing and misinformation does happen. “In association football (soccer), a long ball is an attempt to move the ball a long distance down the field via a cross, without the intention to pass it to the feet of the receiving player.” This being opposed to a long pass (directly to a player), which, nowadays, is bench-marked at 25m and above. But I said two key pieces from your link, the second being: Why do you disbelieve your own supporting quote? Hughes spoke of long passing, with accuracy to another player and the ball being under immediate control, it is that simple. It was the national take-up pf the long-ball game that caused the problems. I have taken trouble to give you some substance to support my point of view in a football conversation on a football thread in a football forum; so, rather than you throw more pointless abuse around, why not post something first-hand that shows where Hughes mentioned long-ball tactics? If you can get me a role in the FA that would be good, thank you.
Not really an argument, I thought it was a discussion (as of forums?), it doesn't need to be never-ending as a simple quote from something written by Hughes would end it. The fact you need to post this simply offers further proof of what a smug, pointless Pratt you are. Why do you need to make these remarks, why not let discussion take place? It's about football ffs.
Neither are an argument; yours was simply a response to another of your snide posts. Why an intelligent poster wants to make them is beyond me.
I would LOVE to give this post the time it deserves with a thorough response. But as our fridge freezer has just gone bang I have more pressing matters to deal with, eating my way through the contents of the fridge and trying to salvage the contents of the freezer. With the prospect of shopping for a new fridge freezer tomorrow the mood in the GLP household is fractious. ****ing fridge freezers - Arse.
Folk might have learnt something from this debate (at last, not an argument!), but I very much doubt anyone learnt anything at Deepdale.
Preston is actually a great place to live. I lived over there for 3 years, Deepdale isn't the best place but Preston itself is great, I loved it over there. Not quite as good as home, but still decent.
