The Saturday Competition.

For those who enjoy a leisurely Saturday competition. Simple rules. You have £100 to stake on up to 3 horses on the televised races. Win and ew single bets only allowed with winnings calcualted at SP.

This week I'm experimenting. If any of your bets show a return you may, if you wish, re-invest all or part of it, in a further single bet at SP. Obviously if you stick the initial £100 on the KG that will be your sole bet for the day.

Are you thinking of running a Glorious Goodwood comp next week Ron? I thought the one you did with the points at Newmarket was really good as it gave an interest in races we may not have had any intention of having a bet in. I will have a go with this one as well on Saturday, thanks for running it.

 

Yes I can certainly run the "Other" Comp for Glorious Goodwood. The only thing I'm having second thoughts about are the options on the Betting Comp involving more than one horse in a bet. I don't have these automated (well, semi-automated but not too clever). I'm thinking the best option for those would be to take them out of my main system and use the odds calculators on the internet for any winning bets. However. there aren't many of these type of bets and so far I don't think one has returned a profit.

Ideally I would like the betting comp to be single bets, win and each way. like the Saturday comp. But,as experimenting on Saturday, allow bets throughout the afternoon so that, in the event of a win, the money can be placed on a subsequent race.

It depends what everyone wants.

They are also my tips for tomorrow. I'm doing patent type bet - big pts singles, medium doubles and small treble. If they all come up I can buy a new car or I will start my new career in busking.
