Probably, but have we lost out on a possible 3 by starting the side we did, then on the other hand could have lost it with a different starting 11
I've defended Shelvey here but I'm struggling after that. Truly awful. An English international who can't get a corner over the first man. Repeatedly.
Well happy with that 75%. Not confident with the line up at start but they did good especially when siggy n ki came on, Fab was great and some clean sheets building up now. 17th so still off the bottom and climbing soon , i hope manure is still our bitch
That's 2 draws and a win in our last 3, conceding 0. Good progress. Just need to buy a striker in Jan. Charlie Austin wouldn't be my first choice but he only has 6 months left on his contract. Could be cheap.
Only partly Shelvey's fault , needs to be forward more ......for someone else (probably Newcastle ) ...and we need the money .....a win for him and a win for us .
That's the trouble. Before the game we'd have jumped at a point yet with the team we started with, we could have won if we had a full team out.
If I knew Palace was going to play less than good , I would have started Ki and Siggy too ...I don't think it would be much of a stretch to think we might have won .....hindsight is blind at the start of the game I guess ....GREAT AWAY POINT .......
Kiff I have always liked him, and it wasn't only his crossing, he just couldn't be ****ing bothered to play for us today.
I'm off to the Philippines tomorrow for 3 ½ weeks - time differences and unbelievably poor internet speed make that the last match I'll be watching for a while......and what a match it was !
It is 3am here and I'm currently sitting on an overnight bus, 8 hours in to my 15 hour journey, updating my livescore app every few seconds to keep up with the scores... First world problems are a very real thing!
Whether he plays further forward that today was no excuse for his lack of effort , his lack of technical ability to put a ball into the box and his lack of commitment .
Very good point that. Considering the effort levels put in against West Brom (and the knocks picked up), I was hardly surprised at the level of changes. We had a makeshift team out there for the first 60 minutes and, to be honest, they never truly troubled us in that time. I was a little surprised to see Grimes dropping in behind Taylor on every single attack...just seemed like they'd said "Britton usually covers our full backs" so Grimes literally dropped in every single time Taylor passed half way. That was frustrating for me as Grimes is a good creative player, Taylor is not - so it seemed stupid to have Taylor upfield and Grimes at LB for each attack. Obviously when Gylfi and Ki came on we transformed. Suddenly we were able to string some more passes together and build some attacks. We worked some very good openings from short corners for Siggy and Ki, and Gomis came much more into the game in the last 20 minutes - winning the free kick that Siggy was unfortunate not to score from after Hennessey's good save. We went there with a tired squad, played for a point with a view to nicking it with a piece of magic (which Siggy and Barrow almost provided). We got the point we came for so it's job done. That is not a reflection of how we play under Curtis, we came to do a job 2 days after securing our first win in a long time and did it. I'm happy with that. How we play against United will be a different story - I'd like to see us assert ourselves on the game a lot more against United as they are extremely vulnerable without the ball! Big plus point for me today was Barrow. He looked at home running at the strong Crystal Palace defenders and produced moments of trickery and composure when needed. He won us a lot of free kicks and field position as a result. Good to see him get a good run out. On a more expansive pitch (Selhurst Park is an awfully tight ground) he looks like he could cause some real damage - excited to see more.
Ist time ever today the live feed went down second half at the club, and I blame it on Leon turning up in his black night rider jag sports car........... Anyway Trunds! Not a bad game considering aye................... Another clean sheet too...............
One at a time is good fishing , I'll take any circumstantial point I can get my hands on given that line up . Injured first teamers resting , heathy benchers with hardly any minutes playing , tired first teamers resting ......it's my favorite point of the season ......5 points in 4 games for our makeshift manager ....a board in no rush to sign the wrong guy because of a bit of success.....made up the 2 points to get out of relegation and put ourselves 2 points ahead of 18th in 2 games ......pretty fuking happy ...... No point without our captain today I'm afraid ..
