Over the last year we seem to have signed several new players who seem to have been carrying varying injuries....Sylvain Marveaux with groin, Gosling/Ba with Knee.

How are these lads passing medicals? In Sylvain Marveaux's case he failed a medical at Liverpool. This lad hadn't played for TEN months! I'm all for signing stars of the future but Gosling just got wages the whole year getting fit.

Now we learn HBA is off to France to get his ankle checked. I appreciated he needed to go there for his leg break but are we being told the whole story. Surely by now AP should be telling us either it's a heavy sprain or a break?

I'm just not convinced the TOON know their a**e from their elbow when it comes to fitness.

FFS, Marveaux didn't fail a medical at Liverpool! That's been confirmed again and again by him, our club, their club, put that to rest

As for Ben Arfa, he didn't rebreak his damn leg, give your head a shake!

Marveaux didn't fail a medical at Liverpool, Gosling was young and on a free worth the risk, Ben Arfa broke his leg how is that the medical staffs fault? Oh and his second injury is a twisted ankle again from a bad tackle. What do you want us to do stop Ben Arfa getting injured from bad tackles? Should we dress him as Iron Man? Ba managed half a season with West Ham fine, so i think you need to calm down.

He didn't fail a medical at Liverpool, he simply failed to agree terms so he came here instead. Even Liverpools financial director openly said he didn't fail the medical.

Ben Arfa had a very serious leg-break lest year and got thumped again in Kansas so it's not like he's a crock, he's just been unfortunate. Gosling was signed on a free as a gamble, so was Ba. They will both have low basic wages with high appearance fees to cover ourselves if they become perma-crocked, a la Keiron Dyer.

Our team is young and athletic so contact wise they aren't gonna be the strongest yet, hence the likes of Fergie and Gosling bulking right up so they can handle the physical side of the Premier League.

what everyone else said. Also if you're asking why Ben Arfas gone back to France I'd imagine our medical staff are either in the USA or Holland

You're talking ****, confirmed by Marveux and a member of the medical staff at Liverpool that he never failed his medical. Agree though we seem to get a few injuries, or maybe we just notice it more due to lack of depth when players get rotated when picking up knocks etc...

So your telling me Marveux's only reason to come to Newcastle was better wages? Pull the other one. The rest of your rant I strangely agree with.

No, the length of deal and first team opportunities would have been a big factor too, especially considering Liverpool were after Downing too.

No, he had agreed terms with Liverpool but they then tried to change them, we then came in because we have been interested in him for a while and he agreed terms with us.
