    ESPECIALLY if they are

I got two separate mugs. Regifted one already

The rebellion one is in the press now.

Disney have used their royalty system to over load on this. Everyone with any relationship to Disney ever has horned in on it

Trouble is where the fck was he when the rest of the Star Wars was going on. I think that's what I find most disturbing about the whole thing...

We go through the journey of Star Wars through to Return of the Jedi. The empire is crushed, the emperor and Vader dead. The story is complete. Then this film starts... and the whole empire (rebranded) is back again. It's just there! No continuation of the story, plot development or build up from where we left off, showing how the dark side grew again and regained power. And this Gollam was around the whole time during the first 3 films but never got involved???

I agree with all the points you've raised earlier. Also agree that for just as a bubble-gum pop entertainment flick, it's fine. But then, in that case anyone could have put that together. All they had to do was the complete opposite of the prequels, re-hash the originals and everyone would be pleased.

I went to see battleship too, but unknown to me it was a Hasbro ****ing movie, I found out when it started <doh>

This starwars movie is just like that fantastic 4 movie, made to keep the license going and make a few quid, Fox own the FF licnese and have to make a film every 7 years to retain the license. Plus reboot merch sales.

Movies in order of quality, bar New Hope, as that will always be the best watch first time as it is all new.

    Empire strikes back
    Return of the jedi

    Revenge of the sith

    Attack of the Clones

    Phantom Menace
    Force awakens

    True that.

I have the odd bit of star wars meself, some of the old merch from the 80s. Pretty sure I have a lunchbox with oddball screws and small tools in it somewhere back in my Mum's attic in Ireland

The issue is luke (hammall) is too old to train any Jedi as his old self and Han solo is 70.

Thus we are not really at episode 7 at all we are at episode 10 and disney have a whole other 3 films to fill in this huge gap.

You are right in exactly what they did.

A scene where solo explains wtf happened to rey would have been good. Not just its all true kid...

I feel there's a lot of scenes cut to make the time as a lot in trailers didn't really occur.

Rey for example in trailer had much more impressive scavenging scene in the crashed star destroyer

I would say the only movies to break ground were

    A new hope

    Empire

The rest were derivative or ruined.

A phantom menace was so bad there is no way force awakens is worse. It's absolute rubbish.

Revenge of the sith was ruined by earlier casting errors. Christian and mcgregor are so wooden the climatic scene was terrible.

True on the sith though I think they were shoehorned into those roles rather than being allowed any freedom. Just a guess

We'll have to disagree on phantom menace, I think both are 100% kids movies and the phantom menace is far better for kids than force awakens

Yer man junior vader in the phantom menace and revenge of the sith actually annoyed the crap out of me, the character was so irritating, a whiney little bitch, they tried to show his descent into evil but really he was just a big man child who threw a princess fit

I think at first certainly mcgregor was but it was trying to hard to sound like Guinness

I think phantom is a 4 year old movie. I don't think force awakens is. It's a teen movie.... for girls.... no but seriously it was an action flick but decent action.

The most disappointing thing for me was the video game like trailer for ren hunting someone and I felt such a scene actually in the movie of him chasing rey in the dark would have been awesome.

It would have broken new ground by emulating a first person game perspective. Like you were controlling ren hunting her.

The trailer having the new light saber buzz was good.

Yup whiney, wooden and in general just poor. I don't think he's had much of a career since.

Basically what MITO said. I would disagree slightly with him on Revenge of the Sith. Annakin was badly cast but the plot was so strong and stuck to the spirit of the original films, that I could overlook his poor miscasting. Btw I thought McGregor was pretty good.

The rest of the films after those 3 were just garbage... but The Force Awakens is no no no way as bad as The Phantom Menace

It definitely stank of girl power, but I dont mind that as long as it doesn't go Thunder Road, where 60 year old women live in the desert with no water and have bikes and guns and take on post apocalyptic bad guys like it is the wild west, and the 4 chicks done up like they were on the catwalk all through the movie <laugh> That movie was a disaster.

Why bother with Tom Hardy if he aint gonna speak, Theron saved it somewhat

I thought those movies had the star wars feel tho, force awakens not so much, I figured Han was set for what he got as soon as I heard who was his son, it could only have gone that way, too predictable, no grit and no realism.

The tie fighters are supposed to be ultra mobile in combat, yet the xwing pilot was shooting them down like they were balloons, ludicrous. Even shooting people standing next to people <laugh>

Just so ****ing unbelievable like. I hate movies like that.

That's an interesting thought. Could be that they are planning to fill all this in in the upcoming films because their is plenty of back-story to fill in. How was the First Order created? What drove Finn to turn against his trooper brainwashing? What are Rey's origins? What has Luke been doing all this time? What has been happening with the Resistance and Leia? Of course it could just be lazy storytelling or bad editing and they will never address these things. But going back a bit would also allow them to bring back Han Solo, Ford has been announced as a cast-member in the next film so could well be the case.

When you take one line that suits your joke it might seem that way, but I made that distinction already, you lazy ****, try reading posts :bandit: You gonna pass that or what? Sticky fingers

This is the third time I will say it, the small details, not the magical powers.
Yes it was a tripe kids movie, I didn't know that before I went to see it tho <laugh>

Well I'm an adult and I enjoyed it :bandit:

Plus I couldn't care less if she didn't drink any water in the desert. I know it's fiction spam to the fullest and accept that <ok>
