The force awakens is absolute rubbish. Rip off, I want my money back. Stupid disney nonsesne with a spinkling of girl power, completely nonsense disconnected plot and essentially just copying huge chunks of the first 3 movies, mainly empire strikes back and return of the jedi.

Nothing but old actors shilling for Disney merchandising.

Can see why you think that and do agree to an extent, it's derivative, structurally and in the story lines and character arcs. If you judge it on all those alone you end up giving it a mediocre - bad review.

If you look at it as a piece of entertainment and fun then for me it gets a very positive review. Is it an entertaining film? Absolutely. Does my being entertained allow me to block out the above regurgitative elements. For sure.

I guess that you see it opposite and can't see past the repetition and borrowing from the original trilogy which is fair enough.

I think most of these who turned out at midnight on release day in costume to see it are so desperate for it to be great that they'll tell themselves most anything for it to be so. Some of the critics writing reviews online and in the press obviously belong to this camp.

I read the fanboys are emailing critics by the thousand with hate mail for bad reviews.

It was awful, if you are a grown man who likes a decent movie made well, that makes sense then this is not for you :D If you are stuck in your childhood, go for it <laugh> Not "you" but anyone in general, it's worse by far than the second three movies, this was nothing but a cashin on the first three movies all over again.

There are so many ridiculous scenes.

Skywalker only trained with Yoda for donkeys, this one becomes more powerful than a fake vader in 5 minutes <laugh>

Man of steel was ****e too, lois lane walking about on arctic glaciers AT NIGHT with ug boots and a notepad. **** off <laugh> That lost me and I switched off

In this one, yer one is mouth breathing in a desert and spilling half her remaining water over her face, she's supposed to be thirsty, awful, just awful, that was first 3 mins, it didn't go well after that. I need some realism, if only in the small things even

My inner child liked it...like trampolines and bouncey castles..heck I even like watching grown men in primary school gym clothes kick a bag of air about on grass set aside in areas where houses or schools could be built or **** even parks filled with real green stuff for kids to play in......

I love many forms of entertaiment...some when you get right down to it are completely meaningless and pointless...they are just fun! :1980_boogie_down:

I'm not a Star Wars fan. I guess I liked the first couple when I was younger but gave up totally and I've not seen any of them since.

I actually thought it was good entertainment, far better than I expected tbh. I'm not a big fan of special effects etc. but this film drew me in and I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't my choice to go, I got paid to take someone I support, so all in all a very good night!!

I'm not going to take my kids though, I'll buy it for them on Blu Ray when it comes out. I'm looking forward to chucking my new visual/audio system a film like this to see wa gwan.

But yeah. I liked it, thumbs up from me <ok>

Who's the chick in it? She's TIDY.

    1. I can see sisu's point.

    2. It was well worth the admission fee.

    3. It was very derivative of the last good star wars. It was I feel a... apology for the last 3 balls of ****e and was design to be an action flick with classic star wars action. Just like Abrahams did to star trek.

    4. The rey character had huge holes in the story... like how did she have a posh accent. Why did she know every Jedi trick without training (no doubt we will find luke trained her and left her there) etc etc

    5. The finn character was complete ham, as was the rebel pilot who I now forget.

6 carrie fishers botox was hilarious

    7. Why had Han solo in 40 years never shot Chewies Boscaster before.

    8. When ren took off his music it was terribly disappointing to see Han solo produced a spotty geek for a son... bad casting one feels.

    9. They killed Han solo. .. unforgivable

    10. None of it mattered. After the terrible last three movies this at least returned to the type of thing it's supposed to be about.

    11. The plot is obvious however. Rey will be someone's daughter....The big holo evil leader will turn out to be some small guy..... luke will train rey though she's already more skilled than he was in original movies... the next one will see empire script butchered as finn gets frozen or something.... who cares though....

no but you take that out of context, had you read the earlier posts then it makes more sense. That was the first scene, and those little things are what make a film good, attention to detail, which this movie obviously did not.

Some people can just watch something and be entertained, I need some level of realism, even if just in the small things, it was star wars after all so I put most of it down to jedi skills. People climbing about in front of hundreds of enemy and no one spots them, even when they cross their path is laughable, yet it happens repeatedly in this movie <laugh> Why wear it <laugh>

Those must be the same storm troopers from the first films, cos they are all blind as ****, and for ****s sake, not once ever have I seen that crappy white armour ever save a trooper <laugh>

If you wish I can list the whole array of nonsense but that would be a complete spoiler tbh so best not to

I think it's mostly copying the first movie with all that walking in front of storm troopers. That and they are completely blind in those helmets per movie legend.

After all didn't her rescuers basically just look out a window and see her?

While an entire battalion on troopers didn't?

One might indeed wonder what exactly the plasticky armour is for given clearly it's not for blaster protection.

As long as you buy your kids the merchandise, all is well, even if they are in their 30s <laugh>
