Good Morning Everyone, I trust you all had a good Christmas! Leeds became the first team to take a point from the City Ground since October thanks to Sam Byram's 80th minute strike but it could have been so much better. A suicidal defensive error cost us dear. We all know that Bellusci should have booted the ball out of the ground, but what about his support. Did we see defenders and midfielders sprinting back to help their team? Did we fook? This was during a time when we were well and truly on top. It was one way traffic. We see a half assed effort from Cooper to get back, and that was it, and that seemed more like a leisurely stroll as apposed to sprinting back as if your life depended on it. What do we think of Byram's dive? I think he was expecting to be taken down but wasn't. As soon as he knew the defender had not made contact he was up on his feet again. Thoughts? The excitement does not stop there folks. Derby are the visitors to ER tomorrow. As we would expect of any team coming to Elland Road, they are the in form team, and have just gone top of the table having beat Fulham comfortably on Boxing Day. Why can't we play teams that are out of form occasionally? Derby have lost once since we beat them back in August. Can we do it again? Should Evans change the team around? Who would you play?
Morning Elland, posted on the Forest forum bud, so not doing it again. Byrams dive deserved a booking, why on earth did he not whip the ball into the box?? Defo change the team, Murphy history, and maybe rest Cook, drop Bellusci and have Bamba at side of Cooper, so....... Bamba.............Bellusci Mowatt............Cook My 14 yr old nephew .........Murphy, anyone better than him, very very poor player. Maybe someone like Sloth, he will be ready to give 110%, and if not move him or anyone else in the January window.
Morning Doha, I remember a Saints player who managed to blag a game, ass he said he was a relation to George Weah. There was not enough time to either check out his credentials or to try him out in a reserve game. He came off the bench v Leeds only to be subbed off a few mins later. I hope your nephew is good...
Morning Matt. Off to York soon to help daughter clear flood water out of museum basement. Just seen pictures on BBC which showed water lapping at the door as the river peaked. But the water was coming up through the cellar yesterday. Uniforms and artefacts were put up on the first floor so hopefully tw just a case of pumping out and cleaning up today........
Morning all. Heading off in morning for a few days hotel break with some of family. Hope they'll have Derby game on the box
Good morning all, I had a lovely Christmas and I hope the rest of you did too... For the conceded goal Bellusci and Silvestre are equally to blame for me. They are not to blame though for coming away with one point rather than all three, the blame for that sits on Wood's shoulders. Evans wants to build certain players confidence, against Derby he can easily drop non performers and blame it on schedule and fresh legs. Is Mowatt injured? I noticed Sloth on the bench so you would assume he might be used against Derby ahead of Mowatt??
Morning all. Not quite sure why Murphy is getting so much grief on here. But yesterday was a day we dropped two points. That said, we will need to create more chances if we're to get anything out of Derby even though we're at home.
Different fans Boggers like to focus on different aspects of games. Some like to focus on positives while others will scrutinise negatives meticulously.Same with every area of life I suppose.Different strokes and all that
Fair enough Eire. Think we need to find a way to get more out of Wood. Otherwise Evans needs to radically change the set up
Agreed but our striking options are so very limited. we also need to create more in last third of the field. Far too many aimless balls chipped in to a mass of bodies in penalty box, the same applies to our corners. No imagination whatsoever shown with corners. Same tactic ever time, hope opposing keeper drops the ball or a defender makes a stupid mistake. Why not try more short set pieces and get players running into the box with the ball. Always a chance of drawing a penalty if nothing else but would cause at least some element of threat with defenders
Evans said he will be making changes for Derby as Mowatt is rested again, and only has 48 hours to put a team together. he will use the squad, he loves Mirco and thinks Douk has been good, Murphy he thought was great Bellusci should have dealt with the ball better but only that once. I think we may see surprise faces getting a run out.
Hope you're right in part Doc. An opportunity for one or two changes. E.G. whose place might Sloth take, and what might be our formation were he to be selected?
Sloth for Murphy, I thought Murphy did okay yesterday but Evans praising him up is so that he can drop him and blame fatigue? Is Byram suspended due to 5 yellows? If so it might be a very interesting line-up. Cook came off after an hour so I feel he will start again, Dallas right, Mowatt left would seem the obvious choice going by past games. Not long to go and we shall see...
Lets put down names who i think are assured of a game. Silvestri, _ _ _ _ Cooper _ _ _ _ Taylor Bridcutt Byram , _ _ _ _ , _ _ _ _ , Dallas Wood 4 slots to fill in there......but whom??
