  1. Slight tweak using that XI...

    Migs
    Clyne - Lovren - Sakho - Moreno
    Hendo - Can
    Milner - Coutinho - Origi
    Benteke

    It's 4231.

Agree that Coutinho, Firmino and Lallana does not work. You have 3 players who like to operate in the same area and get in each other's way.

We need to replace Lallana with a pacey wide player like Markovic or Sane which will give it more balance.

    No Firmino or Lallana?

Milner is a work horse but that's all he is. He's a dog of a player who offers nothing on the ball.

Firmino has been poor but he was far better in the second half against Leicester.

If merely scoring goals is good enough to justify Benteke, then Firmino being the top assist maker is justification for him.

Origi in a wide position would be good but if he's available, he should be starting up front.

All in all - we need to sign some players!

**** it, just throw Sturridge in now if he's fit enough to play a part. Easing him clearly isn't working, throw him in the deep end and hope that he can swim.

Milner has the best crosses in our squad.

He is pretty good at that to be fair. But he's so poor in all every areas.

Our attacking play felt a lot quicker and slicker against Leicester. It wasn't perfect but it was improved.

If we put Milner up there, we'll revert to 80's style football and just launch the ball into the box for Benteke.

Like City did when Milner linked up with Zabaleta (the best RB in the league) and Silva (best playmaker in the league) for a couple of years? <whistle>

How many starts did he make in that two years...?

I must have been in a coma because I don't remember Milner ever being an integral part of that attack.

And if you want to focus on just his Liverpool career, he's been awful. Further highlighting the fact that he's nothing more than just an average player without world class players masking his sh*tness.

Like Jimmy says, Milner was never a regular. They signed Sinclair, Nasri & Navas all after they had Milner which does indicate they thought they had a weakness on the wing.

He's a good utility player. Nothing more.

I'm not saying he's been a star this season... but playing him hardly results in a team going all (80's style) hooding in into the box, as proved when he played for City...

Ps, I'm sure Saint and a few others who watched us in the 80's would argue that the the type of football played at that time wasn't just hoofed into the box either <ok>

But The point is, I wouldn't be playing Milner ahead of Firmino, Lallana or Ibe in an AM position.

That point was in reference to FF saying Milner is a very good crosser hence play him at RW.

He can cross but his movement is poor, has no pace, no skill. Unless he's stuck in one position with time and space, I wouldn't expect much from him.

He plays maybe 1 good game in every 10 games. Not consistently good enough for us to be a starter.

He's just a typical Rodgers/Committee signing to be honest. A few good attributes but a lot of obvious flaws. Its the same for Lallana, Moreno, Lovren, Mignolet, Benteke, Can etc.

No wonder we aren't going anywhere with this squad.

Really hope we see the same two central partnerships is CBs and CMs as I feel they were a key part of the performance on Saturday. Not having skrtyl dragging us deep all the time allowed hendo and can to press much higher up the pitch, it also meant they were receiving the ball in similarly high positions thus speeding up our overall game. I like the look of the 442 mentioned above to see benteke given a chance with a partner but suspect they will play five in midfield. All in all we just have to win end of.

    PS anyone got any streams

Harsh on Moreno and Can, I think both have been top performers under Klopp so far and both are crucial to the way he played. Both were relatively cheap and young.

But you're right about the others. Thankfully Rodgers is gone and we now have a manager who will work with the team of scouts instead of against them.
