    On 20th December I wrote:

One other observation at the moment is I believe we have become complacent............ I seriously think football has moved on. Our competitors have looked at us learned from us developed a better product and stolen a march on us.

Our current pedestrian style of football is being out done week after week by fast counter attacking teams with highly skilled and mobile forwards. We have to learn fast.

None of you could be bothered to read my post but Ron clearly did so I hope you are all grateful.

Hey Conner. Don't know how you managed to get the clip on here but have you got the one from the Northam end?

Meh, I said after the Liverpool cup thrashing, that the game was evolving away from the slow build up, lots of possession football, into the fast breakaway football being dished up by certain teams, and that we were in danger of being left behind.
Just a little bit miffed that Ronald took notice of your post, and not mine. ;)

I'm actually pretty sure Ron must have read my several posts asserting that the root of all our problems stemmed from the gaping hole at right back, and decided to sprinkle Roberto Carlos dust all over Cuco Marina.

Urgh, not sure I'd want that sprinkled all over me.

How the hell did Ronald get hold of some...

Martina is the subject of the "who am I?" on the 606 podcast. :)

Link to the podcast or programme.?

Incidentally, I've been listening to yesterday's 606, and a Saints supporter came on, talking about being in a video with Ian Wright, ho-ho. He also commented about the game on Saturday. And frankly, it amazes me what comes out of some Saints supporters gobs. First of all he said that Arsenal were a much better team than Saints [not yesterday, but generally]. As a supporter, you just don't say that on live radio. You can be complimentary, but that's as far as it goes. The other thing he observed was that Saints would never be up there in the top 4 with Arsenal.! Excuse me.? WTF is this guy doing being a supporter.? If last season wasn't evidence enough, or the constant stated ambitions of the club, aren't Leicester City proving that middle income teams can knock on the door [perhaps until it falls down].? Don't Saints supporters have imaginations or ambitions for their club.? And it's always a Saints supporter. You wouldn't hear it from any other club supporter, as far as I've heard. We are definitely too nice, in certain ways, at times.

One final thing. It never fails to make me squirm slightly when people come on and say, it's so nice to talk to you Wrighty, and completely ignore his co-presenter, who happens to be pushing all the other buttons that the producer doesn't. Ian Wright just sits there and does his legend thing. Football supporters aren't the most tactful of people, in my experience.

I think that Saints fan must have been one of those Johnnie-come-lately glory-hunter types TSS! He was, I agree, much too nice about Arsenal and didn't really want to talk about Southampton at all, just Arsenal, because he'd once been in a video with Ian Wright and Maxi Priest. And you're right, Kelly Cates may not be a former football legend like Wrighty, but she does know an awful lot about the game.
