Positive news that we are looking at more wingers....... or if it is CM where this lad will play.. possibly Sissoko's replacement. I confess I don't know much about him.

    http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor...e-united-understood-eyeing-bordeaux-10652275?

Newcastle United are poised to make a swoop for Bordeaux winger Henri Saivet - according to sources in France.

The Chronicle understands that the 25-year-old Senegal international is on Newcastle’s radar and may join the club when the transfer window opens next week.

Saviet can play out wide or in the centre of midfield, where he has been operating with the Ligue 1 side this season as their captain.

The player has been scouted by Everton and Stoke City this year and also attracted interest from Swansea City and Southampton.

But he has impressed chief scout Graham Carr on his scouting missions to France and the Magpies are ready to bolster their engine room.

Saviet has made 26 appearances for Bordeaux this season and scored four times in all competitions.

He represented France up to Under-21 level before deciding to play for Senegal and has made 14 appearances so far for his country.

The transfer to Newcastle would be a cash deal with Saivet still under contract until mid-2017.

Newcastle are looking to bolster their squad in the January window but as reported in the Chronicle earlier this week the Magpies will be focusing on a winger and a striker ahead of defensive positions where they believe they have enough cover and competition for places.

Great, but I'd rather we added some steel and bite to the midfield than someone else to play wide

Thought we needed to sell before buying?

I can see Sissoko going to Chelsea or Citeh for around £20m+ and that cash buying us a winger, striker and maybe another defender.

I don't dislike Sissoko, in fact i think he CAN be very good when he pulls his finger out but I would not be annoyed if this was to happen.
If we can sell Sissoko for upward of £20m then with a bit of extra investment we may be able to sort out LB, CB and RW. That would be a decent sacrifice for me.

Average Ligue 1 player with a terrible record of fitness...

Sounds like a typical Graham Carr player

He is awful. Has a patchy injury record and struggles against Ligue 1 defenders at times. He's another Gouffran. When will we learn ffs. The French league is bang average.

Need to look at defence and at least a striker that can actually score goals for a change, not another bleeding winger.

BTW, he's ****, just like I said Thauvin was ****. This sort of signing isn't going to help you stay up.

With both our clubs, the idiots making these transfer decisions are playing with fire.

It's not so much who we've brought in it's who we haven't. Both squads are scattered with quality but it's everywhere else that's too weak for the league. Take you injury list. Cisse and maybe Krul(I don't rate him) aside, Not one of the crocks are anywhere near good enough for the Premier League. As for us? A pathetic 4 injuries and a suspension forced this atrocity on us <doh>

    Mannone
    Jones
    Coates
    O'Shea
    van Aanholt
    Johnson
    M'Vila
    Jordi Gómez
    Graham
    Fletcher
    Borini

Both squads have blatant weakness which fall short of the required standard. Both clubs need to be look for better than some of the names mentioned.

Going down together is a real possibility.

Defence, defence, defence, defence!!! Nothing is more important to us than defence. It would also help if we dropped one of our overly defensive CM's and replace with Wij. Thauvin needs to be given a run of games on the wing too.

We seriously lack any depth and while players like Wij, Perez, Mbemba etc are of a high PL quality, players like Sissoko, Colo and Colback are not! I'd question if half the first 11 is even PL worthy....

This will only help once our defence has been sorted! If we did it now, we would lose by many goals every game! Also, I pray that Anita stays in the team when we finally do get to this stage and not ****y Colback!

I like my transfers like I like my women. Are they fit? They'll do!
    Then it's in order...
Can they take an absolute hammering all day and still have enough energy for a second half?
What's their technique like with the balls?
    Are they cheap?
What financial backing do they bring to the table?
Are they likely to cry if they get beaten?
    And finally...
    Can they speak English?
