Yes Dan agreed but when something like yesterday happens I think is this the start of a trend. You needed luck to draw against an out of form Chelsea, it makes me wonder what you'll do against an in form team. Luck like that won't continue, form has to be found.
Out of form Chelsea? I think you might find they are bang in form now Moron eee ooo has gone, watch their next three results, we'll possibly be the thorn that didn't give them 3 points..
I think our luck has balanced out so far this season so do not fear we have used it all up. We were without Ake who has been excellent for us this year. Chelsea may be an out of form side but their players still won the Premiership last year; they had won their previous game post Mourinho; they were at home and were playing to impress a new manager - who just happened to guide them to 16 wins and 5 draws our of 22 games in his previous stint in charge. Not a shabby result at all in my book - I bet you will not find any Hornet crying over that result. Oh -and remind me how well Spurs did AT HOME against an out of form Chelsea side recently. Of course you are favourites to win - but that is because you are a very good team in the top 4 and your players have cost 10 times what ours have. I hope we play as we can and if we do we should be able to not embarrass ourselves.
Somebody else who really hasn't got a clue about what is going on at Watford and spouts this rubbish. I'm amazed that anybody can be bothered to reply to this poster. I wonder if he/she is a BBC/Sky pundit in disguise?
The most likely way for us to win this game is if Spurs underestimate us - so hope the other fans, players and management think like this
Just an interesting statistic. After 18 games in the Championship last year we had 29 points - we have the same in the Premiership after the same number. Is the best still to come ?
Leonardo, London derbies often produce strange results, they're hard to predict. But I don't see what Spurs drawing with Chelsea has to do with this. I'm making a comment about Watford's last performance. If everybody on here were to look at their own team's performances in relation to other team's then no comments would be made.
Well put it this way, they are unbeaten since Hiddinck joined and, bearing in mind what happened last time he was there, they can be considered as being 'on the up' again.
Do you not think that if you want to guess how two teams will fare against each other then a good way is to compare how each performed recently against the same side. It is as relevant for me to mention Spurs v Chelsea as it is for you to mention Watford v Chelsea. You suggested we were lucky against an out of form Chelsea side. I countered that we were the away team and they were in much better shape than when you played them at home four weeks ago - you should have won that game easily. My point is do not dismiss our performance against them so lightly. No team needs to be judged solely on its last game. However if you did you have to compare apples with apples. How about our home performance against Liverpool. Are you much better than them?
It was Boxing Day and we are (seemingly) always rubbish on Boxing Day. We rank 55th of the clubs in the top four leagues, Spurs 18th on Boxing Day results. Besides Chelsea's second goal was, by today's (silly, admittedly) standards, offside. Addendum: Chelsea rank 9th overall on that day. http://mobile.football-league.co.uk...-to-reach-10000-boxing-day-goals-2866763.aspx
If I were a pundit, which I am gladly not, I would be really scratching my head about what is going on in the PL this season. The 'big four' are not performing as you would normally expect. The league is more open than any season for years. Champions at home against a team that was promoted last season would be a home banker normally. Man Utd against a mid-table side losing, Southampton against Arsenal who are being talked about as champions winning at a canter.Throw the form book away, and let's see what happens.
This will be our toughest game so far. If we get a result I will be extatic. I expect Spurs & Arsenal to be top 2 come the end of the season.
Is this about us? We've won 4 out of the last 5 and scored quite a few from open play.. Flores isn't sure which team we will play which suggests changes but is that wise to potentially disrupt the settled team?
Good luck tomorrow against the hot spur - if the team can put in a shift then it's game on -spurs have had a stroll of a game , we'll see if theyhave tthe hunger ., and the luck!
I think Man City away was the toughest I have seen... but we also blew it against Arsenal I actually dont rate Spurs as better.... BUT I would be happy with a draw based on where we are up to now...
