Because I am nosey, I wanted to know whether any of you guys are going to squeeze a holiday in before the season starts?

Now that the school holidays are about to start, or have already started, those of you with nippers will surely have your ears bent to get out and about.

    Any plans for day-trips etc?

I'm taking my clan away to Northumberland for a week and will miss our last two friendlies as a result. But perhaps Berwick have got a match on...?

The joys of parenthood ay Dick... <laugh>.

I'm in the same boat, I've got a 1 year old and a 3 year old... my house is uttter madness all day long... Although I've managed to wangle a little weekend away in Ascot with Mrs Franco and no kids (no dirty thoughts boys, we're looking to sleep, yes sleep for 48 hours straight. Sleep is the new sex in my house... <laugh>). Going to pop over to Windsor races one day to loose all my money and then do Thorpe Park the next.

I have already been to Puerto Banus, Sardinia on business, and then Grenada in December. Unfortunately my work doesn't allow me to go on holiday between January-April and July-September. Get better deals that way though!

anyone got any thoughts/experience on which islands in the carib are good fun? was thinking maybe st lucia.

i want the possibility of activities/site seeing. dont want just a beach as get bored after 2 days. equally, i dont want some pikey hell hole full of romford`s finest.

The last point is why I picked Grenada. I had a friend who did a cruise of the Caribbean and he recommended it as there was a fair few activities (especially water based) to do, and places like St Lucia attract the rift raft of the UK looking to score strong weed (to use the exact quote).

I'm off on a cruise around the Med with Mrs K to celebrate our 25th Wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks. Bad timing really, gonna miss the first match. The kids will be left at home with my eldest, I just hope everything is in one piece when we return.

went to Gumbet, Turkey 3 years ago and Marmaris, Turkey last summer.

Gumbet didn't see one single cloud in the sky pure hot sunshine for 2 weeks
Marmaris ditto except for one freak rain shower

Nice places to go to though based on my experiences don't try and scrimp all squeezing into one room as hotel rooms aren't very big out there, 3 of us went last summer and the whole floorspace was taken up by a double bed and 2 singles almost pushed together side by side with minimal walking space in the apartment

Oh and coming home from Gumbet we were delayed for about 9 hours at the airport, had to wait for a plane to fly over from Blighty before we could leave <yikes>

this year due to recently becomming a home owner my summer holidays will get me as far as Staffordshire to visit family

Due to Eurostar being fully booked on Sat 6th we have to come back a day early which means we can go to the Bournemouth game!
