    York*

3.05 Dominant 3/1 Won well last time on the soft, so should apreciate the ground. Twice Over is gone at the game, and he is recieving plenty of weight from Twice Over who has to carry a penalty, aswell as the weight for age allowance.

    Ascot*

2.05 Trumpet Major 9/2 I know this is the so called second string, but I can't be having the other Hannon horse, the 2nd and 3rd from his maiden have been beaten further since. Trumpet Major was knocked about in the Coventry and was nursed home, so I'm happy to draw a line through that race. He will have improved for the experience and I think he will win today.

2.40 Angels Will Fall 13/2*This one is perhaps my best bet of the day, I know Barry Hills has been out of form, but he had a winner yesterday in the opening Maiden at Thirsk, so hopefully his horses are coming back into form. The form of this ones Maiden win is rock solid with the 2nd winning well next time, and the 3rd and 4th beaten 7+ lengths going close. She is a daughter of Acclamation so the soft conditions should be perfect for her.

4.30 Nathaniel 7/1*I was very taken by Nathaniel last time, he travelled so well throughout, and looked like a class act, the ground should be similar to last time and I think he will take all the beating if he is in the same form.

bit premature to be saying twice over is gone, there is no proof as there is excuses for each of his last 3 runs. we will see today, i think class is class could run a might big race.

also, Nathaniel will take all the beating? there is no one piece of form to suggest this, he's an interesting horse for sure but i dont think he is up to this standard just yet. I would like to be proven wrong here though as he is a horse i have followed since his debut, strikes me as a st leger type though.

good luck with your bets shergy, angels will fall was very impressive first time and looks a good bet at 13/2

Hardy.....If Nathaniel turns up in the same form as he did at the Royal meeting I believe he will take all the beating, we will see soon enough though

On the Twice Over subject, I could accept the excuses going into the POW, bad draw in Meydan, running over a mile etc but I don't see any excuses for the Ascot run. Some say Ascot isnt his best track, they are probably correct, but he was unlucky against Byword in the POW the year before, so in his prime he was still capable of running to a good standard there.

He's 6 years old now, and his form is on the slide, he was a very good horse at his best, and he would hack up today if he could refined his best, but I dont think he can that's why I'm siding with the progressive Dominant

Haha Hardy were even now, you wrote off Nathaniel and I wrote off Twice Over. Just shows what a dire generation it was last year, Workforce didn't have the gears to quicken past Nathaniel. Real shame about poor Rewilding though, I know Al Zarooni loved the horse, he will be devastated.

I'm delighted for Mr Gosden though, like I said on the main KG article, it was the biggest mistake of his training career not to run Nathaniel in the Derby, so this victory is kind of compensation. SNA travelled like a class act, I just feel like Workforce he lacks that real change of pace that the very best horses have. Coming into the straight I felt SNA had pissed the race, but he just didn't quicken.

Anyone with Nathaniel St Leger vouchers can rip those up, he will be Arc bound now, were I think he has to be the form pick so far, with his performance today

    Got struck into by what?

Rewilding was a length behind Workforce when he fell, and didn't touch him, stop making excuses, the best horse won

Ok, so the horse got a bad cut from a fly landing on him.

Shergar you do talk some tosh, if Ryan Moore is reporting as being struck into and the horse has a cut then I think I will listen to them rather than you.

Well done on having a winner, but lets not let that shade our views on the bigger picture.

Shergar, Nass was just quoting what Stoute confirmed. No-one is blaming anyone or anything, or making excuses.

Bearing in mind what's happened today, the last thing anyone wants to see here is an argument developing.

Let's hope they meet again in the Arc. Should give us a pretty strong hand, possibly with SNA as well. Difficult to weigh up the form as it was a muddling affair in a slowish time (relative to other races on the card). From what I heard I understand Nathaniel is better on a sounder surface and, given his action, that wouldn't surprise me at all. If the ground doesn't have an "s" in it at Longchamp he must be a real live contender.
