I just love the attitude of the fans, manager and players - more focussed on safety than a heady heights finish <laugh> Will be interesting to see how they bounce back from yesterday.

...just like we did after our last loss eh? .. Amassing more points than any other team over the next dozen games ... fair enough we'll take that .. we've lost to Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool over the last 30 games .. note the lack of a relegation candidate like Newcastle. :) ..and at home to boot ... :)

  4. But, Fossil, we've finished either 4th or 5th over the last few successive seasons. We've proven our consistency, and that is a base from which we can clearly build. Leicester are a "meh" or here-today-gone-tomorrow kind of side that we've all seen before, and will, doubtless, see many times again.

It's great that you guys have given so many of the old guard a few scares; and I, for one, have greatly enjoyed your bragging and over-zealous wumming. Some have found it irritating and arrogant, but not me. I've loved it.

However, not every story has a happy, fairy-tale ending - very few, in fact.

It's time, now, to get back to reality, and leave the business end of the season to the bigger boys.

<laugh> we will if you will ... if not get used to us, Saints and Palace sticking around ... Saints gave you something to chew on yesterday ... gave Arsenal a real beating ... something you lot haven't done in all of those years finishing 4th and 5th (the heavy emphasis on 5th (or less than) of course) <laugh>

It's very good for the league that teams like Leicester and Palace are showing genuine signs of being able to secure CL and Europa league places. I think it would be great if Leicester could hold on and stay in the top 4 for the rest of the season. They have rich owners who could build on the foundations CL football would provide. It would be the closest example to a club growing "organically" for a long time.

Except for when we beat them 5-1 in a semi-final...

... I did bite my tongue on that one .. it is wryly amusing to have Spuds and Chelsea fans 'wumming' us on our imminent demise when they have both had incredible sums of money thrown at their clubs - with varying degrees of success - some might argue none with the Spuds, unless perennial Europa League participation counts as success <laugh>..if so then they have undoubtedly been eclipsed by Fulham and Middlesbro' who both have gone further in the competition than the Spuds <laugh>

  9. When we played Arsenal, we slaughtered them, pure and simple. It's just that we couldn't find the back of the net, something that we have, for large parts of the season, struggled with. If we find consistency, we will win the league. I know that that can be said of every side, but no one can seriously argue that we don't have the class to achieve that consistency.

Leicester have shown remarkable consistency, in a season when the old guard has had difficulty finding any. It's going to be interesting to see how they react to the loss against 'Pool, and whether or not Raniari has the class and the talent at his disposal to keep modifying his tactics, to stop them being found out.

Oh come off it! The amount of money we have 'spent' is commensurate with what we have gained from sales. Look at transfermarket.com if you don't believe me. In fact, we've made a profit.

Regardless of what we've spent on players and wages, it's peanuts compared to Chelsea, City, Utd, Liverpool, and Arsenal. In those circumstances, we do damn well to finish consistently in the top 5 or 6.

... so you didn't 'reinvest' in one season the £85 million from the Bale sale? (if not even more than that)... I'm not talking about economics .. I'm talking about spend ... pure and simple ... what is without dispute is that you have spent enormously way more than the likes of us Saints, Fulham and Middlesbro ... wouldn't you agree?

Funny that the spuds only have that ancient result against our B team in the Mickey Mouse cup <laugh> Try 5-2 twice in recent seasons against the first XI for a proper measure.

Whilst you still exhibit the capacity to lose to a 'Newcastle' at home? ... of course they can seriously argue it ...

  15. You've completely misread and/or misunderstood the point of my argument, and not for the first time, either.

More than them, yes. But, once again, our net spend is positive - not negative, like most other clubs. Our wage bill is also tiny compared to the club's I've mentioned.

Why you're mentioning Fulham and Middlesborough , I've no idea? Where are they nowadays?? Whatever they've spent - and in Gibson's case it's been plenty - it ain't worked!

Yes, our chairman has made mistakes, most of the do. But, considering the massive financial weight that those I would consider to be our consistent rivals have, we do very well to compete as with them as we do.

  18. Spurs have been a phenomenal success, but the Spurs-hating media don't want to acknowledge that, and choose, instead, to pedal the myth the likes of United, Arsenal, Chelsea and 'Pool all operate on the same "level" playing field as the likes of Spurs, Everton, and Watford.

... the reference to Middlesbro' and Fulham was to demonstrate to HIAG that they have actually progressed further in the competition in which Spurs are more or less annual participants ... nothing more ... HIAG appears to think that finishing 5th each season represents success of trophy proportions <laugh>

... that'll be those 5th placed finishes again <laugh> .. prior to exiting the following season Europa League earlier than the likes of Chelsea, Fulham and Middlesbro' ... I guess it's all relative <laugh> ... fact is, in the last 20 years, Leicester City have won more silverware than Spurs <laugh> ... Oh my ... WE'VE REALLY MADE IT NOW <laugh>
