people don't seem to get that the league has reached a point where if any team is not right on it they will get done.

There is no real top quality and very very few easy touches.

WHy are utd dross right now? that are not on it. confidence is low.

why did arsenal get mullered? they were not on it simple as not cos wenger failed to do this or that as the hacks on sunday supplement would hve you believe

Not one team has gone and won 7/8 on the bounce have the? maybe only Leicester get close. Every team has had a day where the other team is just more full of running and get at them... this league will be won by the team who can get on the pitch full off running most.

I can see lots of surprises coming.

Its never boring watching Liverpool win. Even if its through backs to the wall defending or front foot attacking football.

Disagree, I was regularly bored to hell watching us under Houllier. I didn't watch every game as a result. The winning was great obviously but that's a maximum of four happy moments a season compared to 40 to 60 games.

Football is suppose to be entertaining. I'd hate (a word I very rarely use) to have someone like Mourinho in charge.

Thank god we're not all alike then.

Im in the I want to be entertained camp, don't get me wrong. But after 26 years and having never seen us lift a league title I think the happiness would be far greater than 30 games of entertaining football and loses/draws.

Wouldnt want it every year but I'd happily take 1 year of average football and a league title just so I could celebrate and enjoy it.

Poor lad- I forget you haven't had the experience of winning the league so I sympathise. :)
However, would I take a season of excruciatingly dull, ground out wins just to win the league once and then revert back again? Can't really see the point. I watch football because I love football, not because I love winning. Of course I want to win- but to win playing good, entertaining football. The two things aren't mutually exclusive, and this argument that asks us to choose between one or the other is spurious.

There's something equally entertaining about seeing your team throwing in last ditch tackles and repelling wave after wave of opponent attacks too.

The 0-0 away against Juventus was just as enjoyable as the home leg but in a totally different way.

I think the likes of Saint and myself were spoiled rotten. We saw LFC win title after title, and many cup competitions whilst playing exciting, very watchable football.

It's one advantage of being old, as well as being able to get on the property ladder when young when house prices were reasonable.

Am pretty sure @UnitedinRed was selling that 3 year thing 2 and a half years ago, still half a season to make good on it <whistle>

Plenty of time!

And 18 months ago. I said he will win us a title in 3 years.

He may not now, but that's the nature of football. The only profession where the workers have zero responsibility for their own failings.

Merry Christmas for the other day anyway you RS ****s.

God yes
i still remember the embarassment of out tactics against Barca of just everyone bar Owen behind the ball and on the rare occasion we got the ball just lump it for Owen to chase hoping he would outrun the defence.
How we ended up having possibly the most entertaining UEFA Cup final of all time is beyond me

That implies they've been of a similar stature throughout those 54 years, was maintaining the stat more important than them getting relegated to Division 2 during that time?.<whistle>

The important point isn't the stat but the media suport. Last week they lost MUTV with them openly criticising Van Gaal. This week they have definitely lost [HASHTAG]#bbcsalford[/HASHTAG] who openly asked for him to be sacked on their live text update page

That's the equivalent to Gerrard joining Chelsea to get a PL medal; not worth add much!
