Most Hammers' fans happy to see the back of "flop" Matt Jarvis! http://westhamworld.co.uk/west-ham-fans-react-on-twitter-as-flop-winger-departs/?
My brother supports the Hammers and he reckons the bad vibes from the Hammers fans is for the net loss in cash they've had to take on the deal. He likes Jarvis personally and is sad to see him go.
Considering they paid £10.5m for him, OCF's brother's view seems logical. Hell, we only spent £8.5m on RvW. I've seen enough of him to think this is a good deal well done.
Sometimes players just fit in and for me Jarvis has added to our potency and vibancy. Maybe that was not the case for wet Sham and possibly the way they set up was not to his liking. I do wonder if Vardy for example would be as good if he moved in the window to a 'big' club.
Well said Thurnby. Bradley Johnson fitted well under both Lambert and Hughton, but never really fitted in under AN. I think it's more a case of Allardyce and Bilic and the way they like to play, than it is with Jarvis. Anyway, let's hope he shows them they're wrong for the rest of the season!
Are we talking about the same Johnson who had the lowest pass completion in the League when Hughton played him at DM, and then scored twice as many last season than he's ever managed in a season before, playing in a different role? By all means I agree with the sentiment, some players click with certain managers and clubs, and others flop. I'm just not convinced by the example!
Completely agree and have to say I was wondering what on earth Rick was talking about with that example! I also hope Jarvis works out and is a success for us, have to say I've not seen a massive amount of evidence yet since his first couple of games though, but hopefully once he's fully fit he can get a run of games and show us what he can do on a more consistent basis because he definitely has ability.
I didn't make myself very clear with the BJ example. What I meant was that he could perform well enough on the left in the Championship, but he wasn't what AN wanted in the PL when he was able to build his own team. It seemed strange when BJ was let go, but it'd hard to see him getting any game time in AN's approach this year.
