Palace have a few injures that could help our cause, but our front line is a major concern, just hope Ayew has a better game against Palace, I think a draw would be a good result considering our chronic front line, even a clean sheet, given our defending this season...........
As I mentioned on the West Brom thread, I saw Routledge upstairs after the game and he seemed to be limping. He must be a doubt for Monday.
Palace are a good side and well organised, we will do well to get anything out of this, If we turn up as we did at Man City there is a point there for us, If we play as we did yesterday, can see us getting a big fat zero from the game. Be interested to see what side we played and whether we play some of the subs from yesterday, If Bartley starts then we may as well give them the points. I can see Naughton, cork and maybe Gomis starting Unfortunately (that is for Gomis). Anybody know why Amat was dropped completely fro the squad yesterday for the clown Bartley to be included.
Agree. We have built some confidence in the last three results but yesterday's game was very sloppy. We're capable of a draw.
Although we probably should rest Britton , back into the deep end with him Fab Naughton , Fernandez , Williams , Taylor (unless Tabanou is ready to go ) Routledge , Ki , Britton , Siggy , Cork Ayew 1 -0 win .... 14th place after all games are over Redone line up Fab , Naughton , Fernandez, Williams , Taylor Ayew , Ki , Cork , Siggy , Montero Shelvey or Gomis Reredone lineup Fab Naughton , Fernandez,Williams,Taylor Ayew , Siggy , Ki ,Shelvey , Cork Emnes
That would be great! But ...... can't see Tabanou starting. Also Routs was limping Rumour on Planet Swans that Leon hasn't travelled and that Matty Grimes is starting
That would be a big ask to start Grimes in a game like this considering he has played no meaningful competitive football all season. Why would we start Grimes with all the players that are available to us in the middle, Even without Leon that still leaves, Shelvey, Cork, Ki, Siggy.
Wouldn't be surprised if Leon isn't starting. At most he'll get a half. I think the idea will be for Cork to pick up where Leon left off in DM at Palace. We may well see two wingers start (I think Monty was withdrawn due to the fact that we were winning and Curtis felt we could shore up the 3 points and rest him for Palace - if Routs is injured then Barrow will start), and despite the rumours, I'd be surprised if Shelvey doesn't start in place of either Siggy or Ki - especially after they have both put in 90 minutes. If Grimes makes the starting lineup ahead of Jonjo, Shelvey must be on his way in January. Naughton may well get the nod (unfortunately) after Rangel put in a tough 90 yesterday, and Taylor is our only option at LB atm. Hopefully, the central defenders can stay as they are considering that even though they defended bravely, it wasn't a game of heavy running for either of our CBs vs West Brom. With that in mind, my starting lineup for Palace Away is: Fabianski, Taylor, Fernandez, Williams, Naughton, Cork, Shelvey, Sigurdsson, Montero, Barrow, Ayew. Bench: Nordtfelt, Amat, Rangel, Britton/Grimes, Emnes, Gomis, Ki.
The Swans could lose four successive top-flight away matches for the first time since 2011, when they were beaten in their first four Premier League away fixtures.
Lawro says.. The thing with these games around Christmas is always the quick turnaround. Will sides rotate their teams, move players around? There will be one or two knocks and niggles in every team and Crystal Palace look to be suffering more than most. Yannick Bolasie is out and he is a massive loss. He is such a good player and supplier, and he is a beast of a man. He's very difficult to stop, he unhinges defences. Swansea's win over West Brom will do them the power of good and they can go and nick a point. They still haven't got a manager but they just needed a game where they got a bit of luck and they did that on Boxing Day. Lawro's prediction: 1-1
Jeez Taff , you just hammered my thoughts of our best game of the season , thought the planets were lining up for us at Palace . Still , a win is still on my wish list , hard work and a bit of luck will have to make up for an all round superb effort I guess .
