At this point do you really think a new manager can turn turn the season around?

If not why not just keep Van Gaal, take your time to appoint the new manager, and let Van Gaal guide you to no EL next season making it much easier for the new guy #parttimefc

Simple. It's the football. Mourinho can be accused of building from a good defence but he'll still get us playing better going forward.

Btw Top 4 is there for whoever manages - whether LVG or Mourinho. If he hadnt lost the dressing room, I'd still be confident LVG would get that.

Yep, 2 draws and 3 losses in last 5 games yet still only 7 points off second. Any other season we would be 12/15 points adrift.

To be fair Astro you were dead against Rodgers being sacked and Klopp, who you really don't rate, coming in so you're possibly not best placed to comment. Unless you still think Liverpool ****ed up?!

So much for UIR's final assessment of Van Gaal. He's obviously not going to do the decent thing and walk. Even to the end he's proving, his sole remaining mascot, wrong <whistle>

LVG may well be packing his bags and advertising the fact. But United will do well to take control and replace him at the right time for the club and not when he chooses to go as he is alluding to.

Last week most of us said he needed to go. The team is not playing with any confidence and in football confidence is all. Every move is tentative and the fact that the players are missing sitters and gifting mistakes is not helping.

The silver lining ( there is always one :bandit: ) is that it is now obvious to all even the GGs and the executive that we need a change of manager. It has been downhill since that draw to PSV and it seems that LVG cannot arrest the slide.
I wonder how many who despised the 1-0 wins would be happy for one or two just to arrest that run of defeats :bandit:

So it is likely to be Jose. The chavs will now pretend he was no good anyway but for me he is still not the ideal candidate but in our position the change is itself more important than the identity of the new manager <ok>

Just been talking on the gooner board and I think every fan of the usual top 4 clubs should be vexed at not grabbing this pi55 poor league with both hands.

Van Gaal has held us back. Even now it's not too late to challenge imo. But not with the current manager. And you know what, if we didnt quite manage it but the standard and style of our football improved regardless, I'd be all for it.

You must surely seek style with results. There is absolutely no point in having results and goals galore if we end up in the bottom half like the chavs.

It is just a strange league. The big teams are not guaranteed of any result against so called lower teams. The top team in the league lose to a mediocre middling one, arsenal at second lose to a team in the bottom half 4/0 and it should have been worse. And the chavs climbing up the table supposedly after employing a new manager scrape a draw with Watford.

Nothing can be taken for granted in this incredible season.

Now if Utd were more than 2 points ahead of us and playing better than mediocre you might have a point Christian.

How would we end up at the bottom if we improve style and performance. Our main problem is our lack of goals. Our defence is still our strength. With a good manager (e.g. Mourinho) we could have both.

Tbh mate just seeing a one two followed by a through ball to a striker running onto it with his front to goal would be enough at this stage <laugh>

Taking a has been ****e bag off a rival club that sacked him is quite desperate tbh. But desperate times cause desperate measures I guess.

You should take Big Sam just to keep you up, then appoint Pep (get your money out) in the summer and rebuild (again). <ok>

Depay should be sold to QPR. The guy should not be wearing a UTD shirt.

No way Maureen is a has been, more like a wounded tiger ready to get his claws out.
Memphis doesn't look much better than Firmino at this point but, with a better manager and a bit of confidence he will be fine <ok>

Yep, your current form has you on for 44 points which would usually be tight but is more than enough this season

I thought we used to have the best defence in the league, how come we are now leaking goals. I thought everyone was saying lvg has fixed the defence. Ok agreed we have s fee injuries, still not an excuse to be leaking goals week in week out.

Truth is LVG has done nothing. Teams were simply afraid of us and it looked like we dominated games. Ever since teams started coming out to play against us we have started conceding goals. And of course we can't score goals right from the start of the season and its all down to how the coach set up his team. I don't see this bad run ending soon, teams will keep attacking us. We might end up drawing a game or winning a game but that won't stop the bad run tbf. Even teams on the bottom of the table do win a few games too. LVG needs to go now, and the team can pick up their pieces.
