Nope - just highlighting how sterling wasn't given the same excuses as our experienced, record signing super star striker.
Not enough changes in personnel to explain the change in performance though. The attitude was entirely different from the first minute. I'm hoping it was because Klopp had given them a rocket because the idea that the whole team can choose when to be arsed or not is scary.
Players were definitely up for it. They had to be really and I think the crowd played their part as well. We set the tempo and really went at them.
There is a big difference between missing several sitters two yards out with no way to beat to missng what you deem easy chances. Benteke hasn't missed any chances as clear cut as the ones sterling missed, chances I'd expect Migs to score!
None as easy or shocking as the ones Sterling continuously missed! I should clarify. I'm in no way saying they were hard chances, Benteke should have scored them. I am merely arguing against your example of Sterling to back-up whatever argument you are attempting to put forward.
The worrying thing for me is that our best performances of late have been in games where we start as underdogs. The other games we seem to play as though all we have to do is go through the motions to get the win. Criticism of individual players may be valid to a degree, but is much, much less important than the team ethic and the desire to win. This is down to the manager- he has to get them to play that way every game because that way the team overcome the weaknesses of individuals.
Shout out for Migs today, he had some dodgy moments but that save at the near post was important (from Kante I think)
Good performance... And why? Leicester didn't follow the same script as the teams that took points from us. They didn't form a tight mass in front of goal and have us space. Giving us space gives us 3 pts.
Because we'd dominated and won the game so why give WUMs the easy chance to go on about scoring an offside goal?
Had to raise the spectre of Balotelli didn't you. Just when we'd forgotten (thank god) he ever pulled on the red, let alone exists at all
