Yeah we're in abit of debt, but who isn't? And it's knowhere near a billion, it's less than half that. The debt only becomes an issue if we don't have the revenue to repay it, and we are still the best supported club in world football, so our revenue will always be massive. So there is little risk of us going bankrupt. We aren't a wee club in Yorkshire
Your last reported debt in September was £411m (~$600m), so yes, I was wrong. I don't keep up with your debt, but it's still a hell of a lot. I noticed in the same report that you reckoned on having record revenue this year. That was before LVG's antics seriously denting the possibilities of this. Sadly for you, your operating costs are not going to go down in line with your revenue drop. Then there's the fact that your squad is horribly imbalanced & deficient, requiring horrendous expenditure to maintain the status quo. The thing is, if the same happens to you as happened to us & many other clubs, you will be helpless to do anything about it. Sad, but true. I could understand Liverpool, Spurs, Everton, Palace and even Watford fans being on here tonight, they all have something to gain if we lose and make a top 4 spot open for takers. So you are Lids? In that case I do know a bit about your finances. I don't have a Mensa badge but I doubt I will be $900m out. I believe that every FD has delivered the same statement at every board meeting since Peter Ridsdale changed the club motto to "Trust Me, I Know What I'm Doing" (and the club crest to a group of Lids fans clapping inanely). FD: "We're ****ed".
Just had a quick look down the tables to see where they are, quite impressed to find them in the bottom half of the Championship. I thought they were still League 1.
