Where is Bob with his usual anti-Bruce diatribe? Probably still out and about looking at sofas smelling strongly of Lynx Africa.
I'll see how we get on against Preston and Qpr before I even think about being convinced we've turned a corner.
Yep, as good as the second half was today we need to see that repeated consistently, if we beat those two then Bruce might turn things around. The tactics were much improved today and the second half we got everything out of of the players and you can't ask for more than that
What do you mean "turn things around" did you expect to win every game this season? We are 3rd for heaven's sake!
We've had two convincing wins all season, you need to wind your neck in as I think your heads swelling up after today like Mr Mackeys in that South Park episode. Today was great, making the play-offs probably will not be so great, harsh reality. Like I said on the Match Day Thread, they have to take todays convincing win against the 5th placed side and repeat that week in and week out, and not lose against bloody awful teams like Rotherham and Leeds
Bo you give the impression that you are a fan gained during the premier years. That City have a given right to beat teams (for which you have no respect) you said Brucie hsd to "turn it round^ Which was a stupid statement. Just admit it and move.
That's such bullshit, there's no such thing as a right to beat anybody and nobody pretends that there is. What there is is an expectation based on the ability levels of the two teams. Ergo, losing to teams like Leeds and Rotherham is inexcusable with the quality that we have. Losing to teams like Boro and Derby is a little easier to take, provided the performance was the very best we can give. Thing is though, the times we've lost this season we've played ****, there have been no near misses. So had we played to our best every game we'd have beaten or at least drawn those games. That's where the expectation comes from, it doesn't give you a 'right' to a win, but it does mean that losing feels a hell of a lot worse because the quality of the opposition is inferior to us.
Today was our 9th win by 2 or more goals, are you saying 7 of those were not convincing? I dont see that. Keep you insults coming mate.
Out of 24 games, that's not really an impressive statistic. And yeah, some of them were a struggle, Preston I remember we made hard work of. Some of the draws were also bloody awful.
They were definitely not all convincing, we were lucky to come away from MK Dons with anything, never mind a 2-0 win.
Look at what OLM said above, instead of making stupid comments about how long I supported the team. I backed Bruce to the hilt until 6 weeks ago and now I am not convinced, and why shouldn't I not be convinced going on bad team selections and results against crap teams not to mention multiple errors with the tactics. Today was the best I've seen from Bruce since the Middlesborough game so that's two convincing wins.
That's exactly how I feel. I supported Bruce through thick and thin for years but even a senile old codger like me can see his glaring tactical weaknesses, his often "blind-faith" player choices, and his complete failure to motivate the best squad of players we've ever had. Victories over Boro and Burnley cannot offset the failures against far weaker teams, particularly this season. I no longer have any faith in his managerial competence and would strongly support his replacement.
Good win yesterday & we've still got the Bruce outers chipping in! At least wait until we lose again lads.
