And with a decent striker we'd have beated City so we should be 7 from 9. Much, much better performances under Curtis and more importantly we are picking up points. I'll take that under his stewardship.
Sloppy and nervy and a bit shapeless second half.... but 3 points! A draw the fair result but I'll take that thank you
I wonder why Gomis never got on? Could it be that Curts wanted maximum effort from everyone and didn't want to carry a passenger...
Good effort by Ki to keep committing to the play to get the goal , if that was Gomis he'd still be walking there .
I thought they were the better team second half and certainly made a game of it. Saying that we scored the only goal and I don't subscribe to the view it was lucky - we hit the post and put in the rebound - good play.
Decent performances from Ki and Routledge who never stopped trying but a pretty dire team performance, with a poor and under strength WBA having the better of the 2nd half and worthy of a point imo. We had just 2 ****ing shots on target the whole game. Sorry but that's ****e, particularly at home. Poor sub decisions again and I still think we are in big big trouble unless things change soon.
Curtis praising Taylor was the kiss of death ......well there's the law of average at it's brutal best . We should have had 3 points last game and didn't get it and today , voila ....
Had a good day out on my first visit to the Liberty, good atmosphere if not a great game. Very funny having to stand next to a bunch of English tossers and not react to the sheep shagging chants I wanted to chin the little ****er next to me.
Tbh at this moment, points are far more important than the performances. If it means all 3 points v Palace, I'll take another performance like this.
So, I see Pulis has managed to convert West Brom into another Stoke City - a team of clogging hoof-ballers. Feel sorry for West Brom fans. Although it was one of the most disjointed games I've seen for many years, I thought we did very well to come out of it with 3 points with the referee allowing a lot of stuff he wouldn't normally, given the opposition tactics. We ground it out and showed a lot of character without losing our heads. Well done us, even if the creativity was still lacking, which was partly due to them being all over us like a rash.
Just got back - a win is a win, and that was what was needed. A scrappy match, with us the better team I'm the first half, but with West Brom the stronger in the second half. Perhaps a case of nerves creeping in? On today's performance, we have possibly the worst pair of full backs in the PL. Fernandez played well, as did Ash. Leon was Man of the Match again - Monk's decision not to play him seems crazier with each passing game (excuse the pun)! Routledge worked his socks off - saw him after the game, seemed to be limping. Will be surprised if he plays against Palace. Ki & Gyfi battled, whilst Cork did ok in the second half. Ayew remains an enigma for me - not a winger, and today not an out and out striker, but in fairness he was up against a very tall defence today. Curtis to me us doing ok in "holding the fort" - but "no more". We need a new permanent Manager asap - someone who can sell and bring in his own players in January.
