What is this with Barca inserting buy-back on all their outgoing youngsters? Oriol to Chelsea Bojan to Roma Maybe out of this Cesc saga - they have become more pro-active and trying to control their luck on their own terms. But this literally means Chelsea and Roma have signed these two players on loan and develop these players over the next few years as their own and nurture them. Once they're mature then Barca will walk-in and sign them back. Is this fair?
I think its if we decide to sell they get first choice, if not then it is a piss take. We train him up and they just take him.
Im sure the buy-back price is much higher than they are selling for. I dont think they would have first refusal on them if the clubs decide to sell, Barca would simply have to pay the agreed amount to buy them back.
A lot of Spanish teams use this. The fee is usually quite high especially when the player is highly rated and could become a top player in the future
Yes, surely it must be down to the club he plays for to dictate whether he is sold? But even still, it's a very beneficial option for Barca to be able to take back any players that make it outside of their club. An unfair advantage maybe?
Its basically a loan to buy option, we pay an initial £5m with an option for Barcelona to buy back at a price a little more than we paid after 2 years, unless we want to keep him and we pay the extra £10-£15m (I`m guessing at this figure by the way). As far as I can see Chelsea get to decide whether he stays or returns to Barcelona, with the player also getting a choice obviously.
This puts unnecessary confusion in a players mind - if he settles in new club pretty well and after few years when this clause comes into picture. Should have posted this in Arsenal board also, gooners may have a more of a say with this.
If the player settles he can choose to reject the contract from the previous club. Also the clause has a time limit usually 2 years
