So I guess 99% of all United fans that have never been to Manchester are all fake? BTW, I've been to OT. Just never watched a game there.
It's down to the individual I guess who is the only one to know for sure. I'd have thought to claim to be a serious fan of anything, be it a team, sport in general or any sort of hobby, you'd see it live at some point even if you lived on the other side of the world. No need for a dick swinging contest over it, just my opinion.
At some point NOF will remember his password and prove he wasn't banned. Then you'll have both him and Stan to deal with!
Haha, what an idiot. Geography does not dictate passion. Same as claiming you have a favourite movie, or song, I'd say you don't because you didn't visit the set, or the studio they were recorded in, so you're not really a fan of the music/film. Pathetic argument that stupid (99.9% of) football fans revert back to.
A 90 year old who has never been, but supported them all his life, is less of a fan than a toddler who went to old trafford today. Logic FTW.
Emotionally engaging oneself in a hobby is good enough for me. If you have the resources, then you want to see the event live with likeminded individuals. But that's not always possible for most fans that follow sports across the world. I once met a Newcastle fan in Boston, Massachusetts. Never been to England but who am I to suggest he is any less of a fan? Home and away fans are the core though. Those get the top marks without a doubt. But overall, it takes support beyond watching the games live in person for most teams to survive. And I'm guessing that it is different for every other club, right?
Yep. Most of the glory hunters will be citeh or Arsenal fans by this time next year. The real fans will be getting better at lying with grace given all the practice they are getting.
All I'm saying is if I lived in China/Ireland/Timbuktu and was hugely passionate about something in England I think I'd have got over to see it at some point. Not every week and probably not even annually but at least once in a lifetime. Bit of a weird comparison with a film but if there was a musician I was a big enough fan of, I'd see them in concert at some point.
Yep. Flights from Ireland are 32 euros but most united fans I know have never travelled. thats not support in my view
Then that explains why Leeds can't sustain anything. If you seriously think it is mandatory to see your favorite band or team live to claim to be a supporter.
Of course its mandatory if its within reason at all Just not in the case of the plastic franchises seemingly
At some point is anyone going to explain to the Lids fella that he's having a go at a Chelsea and a Watford fan?
That doesn't really explain why Leeds can't sustain anything at all. Not sure what they're meant to be sustaining anyway.
Surely the majority here are united fans so my comments are for them to read and digest. If others want to comment, particular the equally plastic Chelski type, feel free
