Should we move Wijnaldum to CM? Also future expectations for line up?

It's clear that Wijnaldum is not a LM. He doesn't offer much defensively on the wing, he's not a good crosser of the ball, and almost all of his good work hasn't come from cutting in from the left wing, it's been re-positioning himself down the center when we're attacking, making runs from deep central positions, or popping up at the right place at the right time in the box.

Some people might say him being LM might give an advantage, seeing as people don't expect him to suddenly get down the middle, but is it really worth sacrificing a position that could be given to someone who can actually be effective on the wing? I don't think so. We really need a natural winger, not a make shift LM from CAM.

We need to start buying players who we intend to play in their right positions, rather than continuing this trend and stopping players reaching their potential.

Wijnaldum is good at holding the ball up, he's a decent passer of the ball, and I think we should find a strong defensive mid to play along side him. We shouldn't need two defensive mids in the middle.

I forsee something like this -

    -------------------------Mitro-------------------------
    --Aarons---------------Perez--------Sissoko/New RW
    -----------------Wijnaldum--------------------------
    ----------------------------Tiote/New CDM--------
    Mbabu-----New CB-------Mbemba----------Janmaat
    --------------------------Krul/Elliot-------------------

Are we going to have a thread discussing every player? Lol!

Yes he should be central but at the moment we don't have the players to play him where he is best.
Not sure anyone can be suggesting Aarons starts - he should be on the bench and see if he has an impact in the last 20 minutes or so when defenders are tired.
Also Mbabu is a RB and not a LB so unless everyone is happy to continue with Haidara and Dummett we need a new one - in fact this is priority to me!

Back to Gini - think we need a big physical CM next to him to do all the dirty work (not Tiote - he has regressed so much he is worthless)

Somehow I'd like to accomodate him and De Jong in the same team.

I di agree that he needs to be central. Ghosting in like Speed used to.

The only problem is that Gini is far too lightweight to be a Speed. So we need a much stronger and taller CM to partner him with

Mbabu has looked very convincing when playing LB. I agree should buy a better first choice LB, but Mbabu should be given another chance at LB.

Mbabu should be groomed as a full back or defensive midfield player. No way does he fit the bill for the centre of defense. He ought to develop his ball game if he's going to reach his potential.

Wijnaldum is a number 10 whomay/may not successfully fill a double 6 role but as a wide player his impact has been minimized which is unfortunate. If we had a tactful manager/head coach Gini Wijnaldum could reek havoc in the premier league.
