Everton are set to be taken over by an American-led consortium within the next six weeks. (Times - subscription required)
Apparently it's a group called "The Corleone Family", never heard of them myself. They made Kenwright "an offer he could not refuse" by all accounts. Kenwright said it was the first time he has had "head in the bed" for years
I've known for about 6 weeks that a takeover was in the offing. However, whilst this is fairly well advanced it's not a done deal yet. As for the prospective new owners, I've read up on them and the information appears to be a tad mixed. What most Evertonians want, is not a sugar Daddy benefactor, merely an astute businessman to come in and maximise our piss poor non-TV revenues, and be able to obtain the funding required to finally solve the stadium issue. John Moores (spooky) owned a Baseball side for 18 years (San Diego Padres) and managed to build them a new facility as well as achieving some decent success, so he doesn't sound like a fly by night at least. We'll see. I'm not in the 'anyone but Bill' camp, and never have been, but at the same time I've maintained for years that he should have sold up a long while back, as he is simply incapable of taking the club forwards, as he's not got the financial clout to even provide short term funding.
I never understand why Uncle Bill hasn't got more dosh, seeing as he's one of the most successful producers in the West End. Didn't he have to borrow from friends to buy his shares in the first place? Obviously there's not as much profit in the theatre as I imagine there is - unless he's salting it all away, of course.
Bill's business makes a decent return (a couple of £m a year) but he's a pauper in PL terms. However, the beef that many Evertonians have with him, is that he's never invested 1p in the club - aside from buying his shares (which it's rumoured was partly funded by a 3rd party - his mate Phillip Green) None of the current board have - £0 between them.
Everton being valued at £200million. To think, LVG could have bought Everton for Man Utd instead of wasting the money in the transfer window.
I've been to the padres ground. It's OK, not all that but fine for baseball and motocross which who as what was on when I went. In short nobody invested in that bunch could be in for a quick buck.... they are.... well average at best.
Why? They'd be lower in the table if they did! Yes stone and barkley and Lukaku et Al. .. The thing is I reckon those 3 will fetch 150mil so the rest of everton's players and stadium are worth 50 Mil. ....
Anfield is a stadium to grace 300+ million worth of squad.......oh wait 1 point above the team so heavily criticised by kopites
Everton missed their window for cashing in on the Barkley hype. They probably missed the Stones window too now that Mourinho is gone.
Ha ha woke up have you.....started posting again when it's quiet so you don't get a bashing No posts to show support to Liverpool though just wum attempts chin up though a victory against Leicester and you'll start supporting again Mind the flip side if you suffer a third defeat in a row you'll become Astroturfnautlordlucan again #goesmissingwhenyoulose
Barkley is having a good season so far and seems more consistent. Stones is progressing week by week, what makes you think the chance of a sale is gone if Everton wanted to?
Welcome to astro world Hardly posted for a week due to Liverpool results and when he does goes straight back to his favourite subjects... Man Utd and Everton
