What sucks is we are playing 3 games in such a short space of time, with such a limited squad, can't really see how we can make proper squad rotations other than maybe in defence. In attack and midfield our only viable option for rotation is the OX for Campbell, other than that, nothing much else can be done.
A little montage of Saints v Arsenal classics. You might the last one a little difficult to watch....
We must be due another 6-1 win against Southampton by now, should't we? I think they tend to happen every 6 or 7 games in recent times
Watching those two goals we conceded last season reminds me how much of an improvement we've made in goal having Cech in there instead of Szczesny. Both of those goals can be attributed to keeper mistakes.
He no longer posts on here, but fair play to the Gent, he always maintained that Chensey was **** and was a massive weakness in our defence, the difference between a truly world class keeper like Cech and Chensey is huge.
Looks like we'll have a good chance of grabbing top place today. Leicester are losing and we have a tricky away game to Southampton to play. Its tough but we're on good form and if Southampton let us play, Ozil will cut them up big time.
Yeah it's a great chance to go top of the table heading towards the new year. We have difficult fixtures later on in January so getting full points in our next three games will be important.
Arsenal 33 Cech 24 Bellerín 04 Mertesacker 06 Koscielny 18 Monreal 20 Flamini 16 Ramsey 28 Campbell 11 Özil 14 Walcott 12 Giroud Substitutes 03 Gibbs 05 Gabriel 13 Ospina 15 Oxlade-Chamberlain 21 Chambers 45 Iwobi 54 Reine Adelaide
Great chance for us to go top tonight. Giroud has 12 goals in 14 games and is in rich scoring form. Ozil is on fire too and both Walcott and Campbell are looking dangerous. Also our defence is the joint top in the league for least goals conceded. COME ON YOU GUNNERS !
Ah balls. We really struggle against Southampton at their ground. That's the second successive wonder strike we've conceded though, for ****'s sake.
We're not coping with their pressing game and we're not passing the ball quick enough. That's maybe to be expected considering it's the 4 consecutive game with the same players, but we've not got into our stride at all.
This is really, really poor. Southampton are swarming us in midfield and we keep getting outmuscled off the ball too easily. Then whenever they play the ball forward, we look like we're on the verge of conceding every time. Crowd getting encouraged every time we miscontrol the ball at the back. And just as I say that, they score a second, but it's ruled out for a foul. It's a foul, but Mertesacker should have cleared that with ease.
