I can always see a way around wage issues when it comes to loan deals, because clubs can always theoretically agree that the loaner club continues to pay a percentage of the wage. For me, the issue is more why on earth would Chelsea agree to loan him out? They're hardly blessed with strikers. I've seen one rumour that Chelsea and Palace might terminate Bamford's loan deal, but would Hiddink really care about giving Bamford a chance to start his Chelsea career? There's absolutely no medium or long term aspect to Hiddink's appointment, so no real reason for him to give kids a chance. If anything, I'd suggest that Hiddink's appointment makes Remy leaving even less likely. Firstly, Hiddink might actually give him more game time than Jose did (and if he doesn't, well he can hardly give his less!). Secondly, Chelsea might have signed a new striker to January for Jose to use, had he still been where. But what value is there in signing someone for/with Hiddink? Surely it's better to wait until the summer and see who the new permanent manager might want to have in their squad.

99% of me accepts that it is a total pipe dream that will never happen. But it's Christmas, and that remaining 1% refuses to die.

(If he's still at Chelsea in February, then absolutely fine. I can live with that. But if another PL club gets him, that will pee the hell out me).

Bertrand was also on loan, did that mean he didn't want to be here too?

3. He's not the perfect answer, but he's being rumoured to be coming and I think that's good as it gives us a good option there.

Yes that's exactly what I meant....

 

1) I never said you claimed Chambers was better than Clyne. You asked ME what I thought of Chambers. I responded.

2) the problem is, if it doesn't suit Arsenal, at some point it doesn't suit us. I doubt Arsenal would loan Chambers to us for a season and a half to play back up RB. If they care so little for him, I would rather just buy Chambers from them outright.

Conversely, I doubt we want to commit to playing Chambers at DC or DM for a season and a half, getting him regular starts, paying his wages, and polishing up his game...just to return him to Arsenal.

Which is probably where the Sun got the idea for the rumour from...

but what the heck if the media can be selective and distort the truth so can I.
