That was the point of the "Everyone is **** compared to reality". Who as ever predicted the PL table right? He's very poor when it comes to predicting the top sides, especially Liverpool, but overall he's not too bad. Feel free to do similar predictions next season and show us how much better at it you are though PS...and I'm not protecting Lawro, he's a ****ing prick!
It confirms BIG club bias. When there is a match between an out of form big club and a smaller club in great form he will just pick the big club every time. Surely as a pundit youve got to assess whch team is playing better and therefore will win and not go on reputation? he had an excuse first few weeks of the season but in December ?
Predicting City, Chelsea and Liverpool to go unbeaten most seasons isn't what most people would do and he's paid for his expert insight. As Carl has pointed out, most people have also clocked onto the fact that Leicester are having a good season. Lawro still thinks they're **** simply because they're Leicester. He looks at fixtures and predicts the outcome based on the history of the two clubs, unless it's one of his three unbeatable teams! The man's a moron.
He's not worth what they're paying him, never claimed he was. Just makes me laugh when people say his predictions are really bad when he actually does quite well bar the big clubs. You say its easy, could you outscore him then?
I'm not arguing otherwise, I'm saying his predictions overall aren't as bad as people make out. He just lacks bollox when it comes to the bigger clubs. I can't say much on the Leicester front, I've probably predicted them to lose most of their games too
I am sure many people do outscore him. The problem is that he is compared with his guests who do not really follow the prem and just do it as a complete joke. I've seen a Villa supporting guest predict a 4-0 for his team or a sunderland supporting one predicting a win away to a top team. His guests are just not serious. If we had football fans who do take this exercise seriously, I am sure he'll be easily beaten.
I wasn't referring to the guests, I agree a lot don't take it seriously. I just think predicting is much harder than people give credit for. But I do agree he makes a rod for his own back with the bigger clubs too.

If I am going to pay someone huge amounts for being an expert. I would expect an expert with expert knowledge and not some weak willed soft chap who predicts like any football fan could. I honestly have not seen him predict some exceptional result and thought " He has done well here. No one saw that coming." he is as good as and as **** as everyone else. The BBC is wasting money on him and we might as well have any football fan.

So the bookies are biased toward big clubs too? He's predicting that Chelsea will turn their form around at some point, which they will. Its just taken a lot longer than anybody would've anticipated. The thing with the prediction league is that you don't predict based on the table of previous predictions, you predict on a weekly basis. And when you look at a fixture like Chelsea Vs Leicester, they (Chelsea) have a stronger squad and better players.
This^ The punters predict on any particular game, based more on the status of a club and their expectations rather than on a (relatively) short term trend. So if Lawro sees his lovely Liverpool have been **** for the last few games he things " **** me, surely they'll turn it round this time?" and goes for the win. The longer we're crap, the more likely it seems that the run will end so he keeps predicting a positive outcome. It's the Road to Hell- just look where I am in the predictioo league. Lawro's still a boring ol' git, though.
