Ha, sure I'll be fine. I've had my gums injected and teeth forcibly removed while awake, so I don't tend to worry too much.

In my opinion, biofuels are a dead-end technology that makes money for whoever is involved with it until the 15 minutes are up. There is technology just coming over the hill which is going to render fossil and bio fuel production obsolete. More importantly, the bees need to be saved, and thankfully this is being recognised.!

Personally, I don't want to be issued with a paint brush to do 30 minutes of compulsory pollinating per day, something which the bees do so much better than any humans.

The worry for us I this country is are our Government goon to "buy" into those new technologies coming over the hill, or the financial Chinese monster coming over a smaller hill that we'll be tied into for years.... And quite possibility at a larger cost in the very long term.

You're a fairly informed layman though FLT, and it won't have taken you that much to work out that this present UK government is setting us on the road to building new Nuclear Fission power stations which will be obsolete even before they are completed. The short termism that besets UK politics will once again be our undoing.

The worry for us is that those new technologies that are coming over the hill will inevitably come, and they'll be here while me and you are not that much older. Instead, this government's stance is to point to the grossly underfunded UK university academic studies [it's barely research] that is way behind many other countries, such as Germany, Russia, Italy, Japan and the USA. Even Israel, IIRC. We need to be in these new energy production technologies because they are global economy changers. And we save the bees as well.!

EDIT: I'm sure the plastics industry will see you out though, so there's always going to be a place for oil. Just not one that pollutes so much. :)

I've decided to take a break from here for a short while. Too many people grossly overreacting to a short run of poor form is making this a place that depresses me more than lifts me so I'm off until things calm down a bit. Life's too short to waste it making yourself unhappy.

A win or two, we'll be on the road to a Champion's League spot and they'll all be back under their rocks.

So, a merry Christmas to one and all and wishing you a peaceful and prosperous New Year.

    Vin

I'm off to Sweden tomorrow at the crack of dawn, so will be unusually quiet up until the 28th! Really hope all of you in this extended Saints family have a wonderful and peaceful Christmas. It's win-win for me on Boxing Day as we'll either win/draw, in which case I'll be happy, or we'll lose, but I won't be online to see the fallout here!

    Have a great time everyone.

    Have a great Christmas Laces!

Don't worry about us, we'll try and struggle on without you!

I've just arranged to see Star Wars on Boxing Day evening with my daughters and their men, so I'll also be blissfully unaware of the triumphs and disasters at SMS!

Statistically 47% of people enjoy this forum a lot less without you.

    Merry Christmas Vin!
