Not sure where I said he was good for long term...but the fact he didn't substitute at 60 minutes isn't a reason to start whinging (that was reserved for the previous 12 games)..for all you know he could have made the substitutions at 60 and we lost 1-0.

But we didn't..we got a point, a point we probably wouldn't have got under Monk, not saying Curtis is the next Jesus and 'praise be oh wrinkly lord' just saying be happy we are turning a corner and stop picking holes.

So Laudrup has left Qatar he's available but doubt he would come back to us but what about re-signing Chico to play in front of our back four the position I would have always liked to him to play for us.

Exactly , if we brought on some wingers at 60 minutes and lost ...some would have come out of the woodwork and said " we were bossing the game up till 60 minutes with our tactics , why change it by bringing on wingers to ruin it " .
Our game plan was working great , 73% possession , over 20 shots , lots of quality goal chances , a sure penalty not given and not a casual handling of the ball , a hand ball that stopped a goal .
Montero didn't really light it up when he came on against Man City , maybe that was in Curtis's thoughts .
The players have come out in the press stating how happy they are working under , Alan Curtis and Dave Jones
With help from Roberts and Mitchell ...speaks volumes for me .
Happy players make a happy team and will eventually bring happy results

You're wrong. Firstly, I didn't say that you said anything about Curtis long term, that was an observation on my part. Secondly, it's not "picking holes" to point out when a manager - even a temporary one - gets it wrong. You are right to point out that it may not have made any difference or we may have even lost but we'll never know because the world and his wife could see what was needed on Saturday but nothing happened. I was there and it was bloody obvious, and that has been reflected in the posts here by and large, even though we all agree that we're playing much better. The inaction from the bench tells me Curtis was happy - I mean, really? One shot on target at the 60 min mark. Come on. You can't win games like that.

"Picking holes" is an entitlement of paying fans I'm afraid, and ignoring our failings will not get us out of the ****.

Ignoring our , supposite , failings is no better than ignoring our new found positives and that's not supposite , that's a fact.
I'm not saying Curtis is the answer , but I certainly don't rule out that he isn't.
Months of indecision by our "Bumbling Board " led by the chairman have left us adrift in the manager hunt , it's hard enough to find one , little on find one that actually wants the job.
All this has been heaped on Curtis and make no bones about it , he's more than answered the call .
It's certainly everyone's right to be a "Back to the Future " sub analyst , so fill your boots , doesn't make you right or wrong , it just makes you unaware of the reality of the what and why things that happen behind the scenes , like the rest of us .

You can with a clean sheet and a goal ;)

Tbh, as long as we play with Gomis up front and no fliers on BOTH wings we will struggle as teams can just bunch themselves in around their box and stifle our movement and Gomis spends so much time offside it kills our attacks. How many times was Gomis offside in goal scoring opportunities?

That is why Montero and Routledge must start every game with Ayew up front. Routs and Montero can stretch defences opening up space for Ki, Gylfi, Ayew or Jonjo etc to shoot at goal.

That's why I can't understand why Montero wasn't brought on with 30mins to go (unless a slight injury?).

Painting this game with a one shot on goal brush is deceiving at best .
We had lots of scoring chances , Ki had a free header at the side of the goal that he mishit and should have been a goal , Corker had a cracker that was saved beautifully .Ki had a beautiful shot that was handled in the box but a clear penalty wasn ' t given and if it wasn't handled was clearly in the net .West Ham blocked a lot of shots .
The difference between this game and the Man City game was in the City game we were behind when subs came on and we mixed things up to try to get an equalizer. This game we were bossing the game and not losing so why change the tactical plan if it's working .
I would have subbed a bit different but what do I or anyone else know better than a coach that works with these guys everyday .

Well I'm hoping for a couple of good performances and us pulling into 14th after the Palace game .
If we did would you want a new manager to come in , with money and transfer demands ,with no guarantee of improvement from a team they know little about or leave well enough alone with Curtis and company , spend enough to get a new striker , and let a previously mismanaged team get back on track with coaches that the players are comfortable with going forward .
    Door # 2 for this cowboy ....
Look for Carvalhal's odds to start dropping like a lead balloon by the way .
