There is a story on sky news (if someone could please copy it) Its disgusting. The Lords speaker racked up a 230quid car bill while she went to an opera a mile away from parliment. Also 270 quid for keeping a car waiting four and a half hours while she went to lunch (canny long lunch) which would have cost 30 quid in a taxi or 5 on the tube. Baroness D'Souza. Plus more.
£500 !, they get paid enough anyway. The London tube is the best transport in London, as I have used it, cost about £4 to go anywhere in London. I would have walked for the execise, but she would have been wearing frigging expensive gucci high heels..

Lady D'Souza, who is paid more than £100,000-a-year for a largely ceremonial role, also claimed thousands of pounds in travel, according to figures released to the Press Association after a Freedom of Information request. It comes after Mr Bercow was criticised for “obscene waste” for a £172 chauffer-driven car 0.7 miles to a conference. Among the details released are: :: £230.40 bill for a chauffeur-driven car for four-hour Royal Opera House trip on 20 June 2013. :: £269.75 bill for car to four and a half-hour Kensington Gardens lunch with Japanese ambassador on 17 September 2014. :: £738 for 10-hour car trip to event at Windsor Castle in June 2012. A House of Lords spokesman said: "The Lord Speaker usually drives herself to events she attends as a representative of the House of Lords. "However, at events she has attended at high-profile venues including those that you have highlighted, the security requirements of the hosts often require that she is brought in a car which must also wait for her departure. "The hosts often do not permit a separate car to be sent to collect guests for security reasons. The Lord Speaker's Office always explores the possibility of booking separate cars in order to ensure best value for money."
