0-0 about 3-4 years ago in the championship, bought tickets for me, the missus (who has seen 3 x 0-0s and a 1-0 loss in her City life time), mum, stepdad and step bro....money ill spent
Remember Jay Simpson rounding the keeper and thinking we must score, his shot barely trickled to the defender on the line.
Yeah, but I'm talking about the reverse fixure. I recall feeling disappointed that we didn't take our chances in the 0-0 on Boxing day at your place.
Think that was a few days later, one of the most dominating performances i've seen from us that day, shame we couldn't get the score line we deserved
To be fair, when was the last time we had a game against each other that was genuinely interesting? The 2-1 loss at yours? Remember Matt Mills getting the most ridiculous red card I've ever seen and we looked well worth a point until Koren scored a special goal to win it late on. Gutted at that one.
It was a well deserved red card, tripped McLean when he was in a 'clear goalscoring position' (not sure what you'd describe as a clear goalscoring opportunity for Aaron McLean. He could be on the line and miss). **** knows how the officials spotted it mind, it was right in front of me and I didn't see the trip, thought McLean fell over like the donkey he is.
Doesn't matter if you're Lionel Messi. It's not a goalscoring opportunity if it's in the keepers hands.
I also thought it was the norm to train xmas day, as brownie made such a big deal that he had given them the day off and felt let down..
Not only should they train (nothing strenuous, they could practice set pieces, the lot-corners, free kicks in scoring positions and my pet peeve, goal kicks and goalie throw outs oh and throw ins as well). They should be taken to a hotel or other place with a strict alcohol completely ban. When so much is at stake it appalls me with all that we know about alcohol and its effect on performance given the amount of money at stake for both the club and players that their is not a total alcohol ban at least 3 days before a game. And on top of that a limit to the units that can be drunk on other days along with strict monitoring. After all its not like the old days when players were being paid 25 quid a week, literally beer money. Maybe the club have a policy on such matters, if so it would be great if they made it public. We could all do our bit to monitor it.
Great look forward to your report. And if it looks like they are not practicing what I suggested go over there and have a word with Brucey. I am sure he will listen. And while you are at it check the dressing room for Egg Nog!
